Date changes of Forest matches

Hi fellow Forest fans,

I'm an Expat fan living in Holland. I don't get over much to watch Forest, but me and my Dad are planing to fly over to watch the Ipswich Town game on 10th April.

Does anyone know if this game will be or can be moved for whatever reason? For instance, TV? How far in advance do they normally change the schedule? I need to know so I can get flights booked.

I hope someone can help! after listening to Forest this season, I think it's about time I actually see it with my own eyes!

cheers,
James

Hi James, if it was going to be moved, I would expect it to have been announced by now - so you should be okay.

If it was going to be moved it should have been by now, they announced the Newcastle match about Xmas time I think.

Do you speak like Steve Mclaren now ?:console:

Cheers guys! that's what I thought as well!

And yes, I do speak like Steve McLaren when I speak English with Dutch people.. For some reason, you just can't help doing it!

Mind you, I tend to just speak dutch... Something Mr. Mclaren is still struggling to grasp..

I am slightly worried about coming to watch Forest play and we always lose.... The last time I cam over for a match the score was Forest 0, Jason Koumas 3....

But I did witness the last game of the Platt era... which we won 9-0, I think in a friendly... I try to get over for at least 1 game a season... but as you can see I haven't been doing very well for the last 7 or so years.... haha!

There's always a chance - but I don't think it too likely.

I keep hoping that the Plymouth game will be moved, last home game of the season (hopefully achieving automatic promotion) should be a party atmosphere and I'm at a god damn wedding in Scotland and to top it off i have to wear a bloody kilt.

It's probably worth pointing out that NO championship games have yet been selected for tv coverage after the 5th April

And that link from Tutts is wrong (yes it's an official site but it's rubbish!) I'm sure the Forest v Cardiff game is on BBC not sky? Sky are showing Newcastle v Sheff U on the 5th April (7:30pm)

Sky live games here

I wouldn't think the Plymouth game will be moved. It's the last home game of the season and I'm sure Sky & BBC will want to save any undecided games for the following weekend

The final game of the season can not be moved as there is this rule now that we all have to finish our games at the same time. Usually Sky use their various channels or the red button to show various games at the same time.

As for the others after Easter based on previous seasons they change them with only a few weeks notice and usually include the promotion/relegation candidates so don't be surprised to see lots of games moved potentially.

There's something that's puzzled me for a while now and I wonder of anyone can shed any light on it.
With there being camera and beamback's to SSN at almost all Championship games is there a reason why Sky can't divert the feed to the red button and show games there on a regular basis?

Its all down to the fact that they can not broadcast any live games games that KO at 3pm on a saturday.

Except the FA cup final.

why not just change the rules?

Because they have always said 3pm Saturday is the home of football as it were and they keep it as it is to try and maintain the attendances. There's no doubt in my mind that if they started showing Saturday 3pm games and especially how it was mentioned through red button etc the attendances would drop off in no time.

fair one guys thanks for the sensible replies.

Might not be too long till they have to review the rules with so many games being shown abroad and torrents being so readily available. Maybe the next thing for Player to look at would be to stream the video along side the Colin Fray's commentary.

Good job Saturday 3pm is the home of football ,eh, else we'd be all be playing matches at stupid times on stupid days as dictated by a TV station....

Oh........

I have always thought about that. But then how much would you pay to see all games live throughout the season? Also would it stop you going to the game?

I think they would have to take into account a lot of things to make it work and not see attendences dip

Not sure how much I'd be willing to pay. I find it scandalous that they get away with charging £30 a year for Radio Nottingham commentary that we already pay our licence fee for just because we live outside the Nottingham area.

Personally it wouldn't stop me going to games as I love the whole matchday experience. But on the occasion's work stops me getting to games it would be nice to watch the action on a reliable feed rather than a dodgy one that's miles behind the commentary and is almost constantly buffering

It wouldn't stop me from going to matchdays either. Nothing beats the atmosphere of being there. But as I only make about 1/2 games a month, viewing online would be fantastic for me.
But I'd have a feeling they would charge loads because they need to cover all broadcasting fees, and also make sure it doesn't harm gate receipts.
