Darren Ambrose

Assuming he was on BD's list - how realistic could this be? Are Palace struggling with finance?

Wouldn't want him. He's doing well now but has been under-performing for so long you can't trust him to be quality.

If we signed him could we do the Darren Ambrose thing when he scored..

The scorer for Nottingham Forest, Darren Ambrose... DARREN!

Hahaha.. the PA dude at Palace was a cringeworthy cretin...

I said at the start of the season I wouldn't have minded if we'd brought him in as a manager like Colin or Billy who takes no crap would probably get the best out of him. Wouldn't think he'd end up here though but I can't think of many wingers around that would at the moment that I'd be happy with. All depends on what Billy wants really I guess.

Peter Whittingham?

You expect him to leave Cardiff for us? I'd certainly be happy with Whittingham but can't imagine we'd get him, at least not for a reasonable amount of money. Also he's with a club that have been challanging the play-offs for a few years now and would probably see us as a backwards step, a sidewards one at best.

Are you aware that Cardiff is in Wales? It's hard to have a backwards step from there.

Due to the inbreeding that's the most common way they actually take their steps.

He's always looked quality to me, at Newcastle, Charlton and Palace. He has certainly shone out in average teams. I reckon he'd be a great addition to our squad. He's strong, has a good engine, and has good technique, whether passing, crossing or shooting, a very good all round player really. I'm surprised he's not in the Premiership at someone like Wigan or Hull to be honest. He's only 25 as well!

Made even harder when wearing wellies.

He is clealry someone in a good run of form at the moment but has never really made full use of his potential, shown by him sturggling to make the Charlton team last year. Palace have had some financial trouble haven't they as they have had an embargo recently, so would rather see us try and sign someone like Victor Moses

Terrible player - just on a good run at present. Give it a couple of weeks and he will sink back into their average team of average players

Wasn't he part of the Charlton side that made Gary Holt look good?

personally i wouldn't want us to sign ambrose or whittingham , i think they're just having a decent spell but are not as good as their current form suggests .

Not goalscoringwise but I think they're both very good players. Would only take one and if given the choice it'd be Whittingham.

If we win our coming few games and enter the new year in 3rd or thereabouts, given the financial strength of the club and a decent manager, you might be surprised at just who we can attract.

At the end of the day most players are mercenary, if they feel Forest is moving faster than others and more serious.....they will want to join.

Ambrose, along with his Palace teammates, were not paid on time this month. Palace would certainly sell players, but although Ambrose looked awkward and fairly good at this level, I feel that we need players who could make the step up. If we do go up, we don't want to have to replace all our players.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. People are blindly dismissing them on the basis of they've scored a few goals recently, and it's a flash in the pan, when they aren't goalscorers anyway.

As I said, Ambrose is strong, great engine, very good passer, comfortable on the ball, can win balls in the air. Fairly similar to Cohen and McKenna.

Whittingham is more of a wide player, Ambrose has been playing centrally for ages now. Both are top end CCC players for me.

I'd have him at Forest like a flash. He's been around and would add more experience to our midfield just at the right time. If the money is right I think Palace would sell. Simon Jordan is still bankrolling the Palace as they continue getting very poor match attendances, so yes there is a good chance.

If Palace don't pay their players by Monday then they are free to negotiate a contract with another club without any further delay!! Ambrose and Moses please!

No transfer window worries either?
