Coventry left-back Danny Fox is being chased by Celtic, West Brom, Reading and Nottingham Forest. (Daily Mirror)

From the BBC Rumours Page

Don't know much about him to be honest.

point taken.... Surely putting the name of the player in the subject box would help though! :)

Luckily McCleary plays for us and there aren't that many pacy, tricky wingers like him in this league :)

I'd love to see Fox at Forest

£1.6m bid according to the Sun.

Can't see that one being too successful.

I don't think he's worth that much. Don't think he's too good at all even considering he's supposedly a dead ball wizard. I do wonder if prices will be driven up a bit when we look at left backs considering our situation. I think it certainly happened with Lynch, I think I'd prefer him to Fox.

Fox had a bit of a mare against McCleary but he's an U21 international and rated as one of the best young defenders outside the Premier League. I'd have him over Lynch but I think Coventry will want too much for him.

Like I say, I think Fox is overrated. Lynch I think would be better value for money and we don't have a bottomless pit of money to spend from. Lynch can also play in the middle of defence which would provide cover there when Bennett is fit again and we may even develop him more into that place, he would be a real bargain if we could get him for £400k or less which I think is really quite possible.

There's no way Coventry will sell him for 1.7 mil. They sold Dann for 3.5-4 million , i don't believe they will sell Fox for anything less. Forget Fox , we should get their icelandic international defensive midfielder Aron Gunnarsson , only 20 and was their player of the year last season , beating out westwood , dann & fox. The coventry fans have been raving about him.

I don't think it was us but i think they will be naming any offer "pathetic" unless its a ridiculous offer which i think 1.6million is not i think they will want around £3million. I think £2 Million is sensible but they dont want to and dont have to sell.

I know that but I bet at least 4/5 people will claim it's "another" derisory bid from us. It's unavoidable on a Forest forum I'm afraid.

It wasn't long ago that Premiership sides were sniffing around this lad.

That's surely added another £1m to whatever they originally valued him at previously .

Don't think Fox would come to us, when there's Celtic and WBA after him.

I don't want to sign someone called Danny - he sounds like an American. I hate Americans.

Danny Zuko
Danny Devito
Danny the Champion of the World
Danny Day Lewis

Ok not all strictly American, but not English - Roald Dahl was Norwegian for Christ sake

He's called Danny in the same way all footballers called James and Nicholas are always Jamie and Nicky.

Anyway, if he can't stand up to the forename bullies, how's he meant to keep Championship attackers at bay?

It shows you how inflated the market is when Dann goes to Birmingham for 4m. In reality he's probably worth about half that, and im surprised brum coughed up that amount for him. Now that Cov have done that business, they are not going to accept any bids for fox in region of 1.6 m. They can ask what they like for him (and dont have to sell), and will just keep pushing the price up to way beyond his ACTUAL value. TBH i'd much rather see us just try and conclude the Lynch deal (for the left back spot), or go after someone else, and leave Fox well alone (although I dont think he's a bad footballer, to get him, we'd have to pay WAY WAY over the odds).

Is pathetic worse than derisory?

"
Coventry boss Chris Coleman has admitted the club have turned down a 'pathetic' bid for Danny Fox.

The Sky Blues have refused to reveal the identity of the side involved, but West Brom and Nottingham Forest have both been strongly linked with the talented full-back of late.

Coleman insists he has no intention of letting the 23-year-old leave, but does accept that a 'massive bid' could take the matter out of his hands.

"I have got to be honest with our supporters and I can't stand here and say that we are not going to lose any of our players, but we don't want to sell anyone," he told the Coventry Telegraph.

"I'm not surprised by the interest in Danny. He was voted in the Championship team of the season and he deserved that along with Keiren Westwood, and he has come back and looks even better than last year. He is in top form and his quality in training is absolutely fantastic.

"I have had one conversation with one club about Danny Fox. There was a bid that I thought was pathetic for a player of his calibre and we said no. I told Danny that and he's fine, he's happy where he is so that's where we are at."

Meanwhile, Sky Sports News also understands that Forest have made a fresh approach for Preston skipper Paul McKenna.

The Reds have been chasing the experienced midfielder for some time and have already seen three offers knocked back by the Lilywhites.

However, Billy Davies is refusing to give up the chase and has made another move for a man he worked with during his days in the dugout at Deepdale.

And you know this - HOW?

Paper talk means F all. Had you listned to the media when we was in for Camp & Anderson they told us they was going to cost us a million a each!!!!!!

Rumours are rumours and that's just what they are until something definate happens - An enquiry is a bit different from a bid but we all know that anyway - don't we??
