Danilo

Alf-engelos Mindminackers

The Artiste formally known as "w**ksy"
He was nice to watch and looked promising, but he went way off track with the injury.

Wish him best of luck, seems a nice kid, but yeah, not a player that I'm bothered to see leaving to be honest.

Wasn't he like player of the season or something in Brazil before we bought him? I guess Botafogo remember that.

Best of luck, Danilo.

He needs minutes in a low-pressure environment to get some form and confidence back.

I'm surprised we didn't just loan him, but then there was the risk of it not working out I suppose, which could have reduced his value.

He scored another great goal last night

I have no idea why he went back to Brazil, should have stayed in Europe

Have you seen games in Brazil? They are not a low pressure environment. They are mental.

I was going to post that he'd Scored a banger in Botafogos 4-1 win.

Pleased for him getting minutes and doing well.

But it's hardly at the top end of the PL. The PL is something different - really only La Liga and Serie A are anywhere near the same level.

Think we really miss the lad. Though actually, you can understand why they decided to cash in if there were doubts about his value/recovery

I was watching some 22/23 highlights earlier. Danilo was incredible at times that season - doing things none of our midfielders have done since. Never the same player after the injury.
He was mostly great in 23/24 too, linked up so well with MGW (Morgan's goal at home to Fulham just one example of many) and notched more goals than any other midfielder of ours in this PL era. Reading this thread back it seems he was underrated by Forest fans from my perspective at least. Agree he wasn't quite the same after the injury sadly.
