Dan Assane Ndoye of SWITZERLAND

Scoring against Slovenia isn't quite the same as doing it in the Prem. As Ndoye finds out each week.

I'm not even necessarily looking for loads of goals from him either (although it would be nice). Just simply causing the opposition a bit of a problem would be acceptable at the moment.

That can’t be right, apparently he’s rubbish, I’ve read it on here?

His has scored about 1 in 4 internationally, not shabby opponants

Doesn't really matter though at this stage does it? He could score the winning goal in the World Cup final for Switzerland but if he's still dire in a Forest shirt it makes no difference.

At least this way he'll retain some value though and it might trigger some interest in him.

He’s scored almost 1 in 4 for Forest as well, this season. Probably due a goal for Switzerland really as well having missed a bunch of chances for them in the World Cup. I don’t think there’s any great mystery in it. He’s a decent player that misses a lot of chances. But he also gets on the end of a lot of chances. Therein lies the conundrum.

Do we play him in the same position he plays for Switzerland? Does he look like he has more freedom, shackles off when playing for them? His goal contributions over the international break could point to us not playing to his strengths but I don’t get to watch us as much as I’d like nowadays so I could be wrong.

I think it's simply that he plays against much weaker opponents for Switzerland. Both in terms of ability and of physical stature.

He just gets bullied in the Premier League. Surely this is happening in training too against some of our monster defenders...

I don't think there's a massive difference between him for Switzerland and Forest. I just don't think he's very good at shooting. He's had 11 shots for us this season and got two on target. He gets in the right positions and misses. All the stuff about him being too lightweight or whatever are rubbish in my opinion. He'd get a hatful if he could finish properly. Which on current evidence he can't.

I think he struggles against teams that play a low block but his speed is useful against the top teams. It wouldn't surprise me if Jesus will play against teams with a low block and Ndoye against teams that don't play a low block

He's had the same coach for Switzerland since making his international debut four years ago. He's on his fifth coach since signing for us last year. Got to have more than a little bit to do with the contrast in form for each of his current teams. Give him time.

If you watch him closely a lot of his shots get blocked at source, so presumably still registering a shot for his stats. It suggests there's a split second of hesitation or he's just not quite quick enough to get a shot away, which at this level would make all the difference.
