Curtis Jones

As I said previously although not to you, the one year left is a red herring. That only applies to someone that is either an integral part of the team, someone that's happy to run down their contract.
I don't understand. If you could get prime Salah, Haaland etc for 50m with 6 months left, you would go for it but for Curtis Jones I wouldn't go much higher even if he was contacted to 4 years.

And only having 1 year left even 40 is pushing it.

That's not a good comparison though because to sign those for £50M you have to pay £300k+ a week in wages.

Only one year left on his contract? Well that changes things. Obviously no-one's paying 40 m to buy out a single year, but I guess he'll get a bid from a more attractive proposition than us.

Too much, I'd still pay it, I like him, but I can't see anyway he's coming to us, he'll let his contract run down and bugger off to Italy.

Man City would never have paid 116 if Anderson had one year left.

You can have 50m now or we'll get the player for free in a years time with a big signing on bonus and a higher salary to ensure he signs for us anyway.

Not a difficult concept to understand.

We spent almost 40 million on both Bakwa and f***ing N’Doye but a player with hundreds of games at Liverpool is overpriced apparently.

Your not getting many players with 200 games in the PL and Europe for much less than 40M
Did we pay £40m for Bakwa & Ndoye?

I hope we can get him in. I think with a consistent run in a set position he will continue to get better. And he's already (at the very least) a top 8 midfielder.

Wouldn't mind Jones tbh, I do wonder if Glasner coming in had influenced his decision a bit. We are far more desirable to join with him in charge.
