Although I agree the danger is somebody else doesn't so they sign him becausewe haggle over £5m. Reality is that at £30m it's unlikely there's another Premier League ready midfielder available of his quality for that price.
I agree but ya know, an extra 5m here and 5m there and pretty soon it starts adding up to real money..

with over a 150 EPL games he is EPL ready maybe offer £25m with £3m add ons maybe payable if we qualify for Europe.

Liverpool are very odd with how they are prepared to let so many players leave for nothing.

I think 30M is fair, he’s 25 and played over 200 games for Liverpool.

I’d much rather we do this than spend 30 million on a lad from a random league who we have to be told every week it’s going to take him 2 years to get used to the PL.

Get Jones and the lad from Spurs and stop faffing about. Every transfer is a gamble but I’d rather gamble on two lads who understand the league and what’s expected of them.

Obviously alot depends on Iraola... I'd bid 30 and we do the deal in a day to give them cash for his plans if he doesn't want Jones.

Is he any good?
I've always liked him. He's good on the ball and versatile and I don't think he's ever let Liverpool down. Ordinarily you don't play 150 games for Liverpool as a young if you're shite.

What you lose in aggression from Ando you gain in getting a better player in the final third. He's quite progressive, very tidy with ball and can wriggle out of tight areas. For the money being touted I'd be very happy with that.

on socials people going on and on about Manzambi being a far better option than Jones. Newcastle are looking at Manzambi.

for me Jones is EPL proven and scoring a few goals and looking good at a World Cup as Manzambi has is one thing but the EPL is a whole different ball game and for me nothing outweighs EPL experience and being EPL proven which Jones is.

Then again we could just sign them both…

Freiburg want €60m for Manzambi.

I would also think everyone will add a premium as £116m is landing into our bank.

However £40m seems wildly unrealistic. £30m give or take then it’s a more than decent investment.

If we spend what Liverpool want (£40m) on an average midfielder with one year left on their contract, then we're gunna blow this transfer window, I can feel it.
Jones had more goals and assists from right back last season for Liverpool and he's a central midfielder.

If it was 20-25m then I'd say go for it but surely we're not in silly, desperate mode are we?

Is he worth that based on what he has done in Germany as I have only seen him play at the World Cup?

Based on what I've seen at the World Cup he looks more of a forward than a midfielder.

I think there's something in this. Sometimes agent talk (Frattesi to forest, Jones to inter) is back to front (agents are back to fronts as my Irish mate would say). Wasn't MGW with him in Monaco a couple of weeks back too.

Really want this to happen. Jones has shown what he can do when he's on it and forest would be a great move for his career and all parties, as shown by EA. Seems like a forest signing and can see him fitting in nicely.

It’s an awful lot of money and he’s still a bit raw, but he’s an exciting young player who makes things happen.
