I'm with you Tom - rich is one big walking contradiction

(apart from his name being Rich and him living in the park)

Either way, you hardly 'get behind the team' with your constant criticisms last season of our goalkeeper.

Do you honestly believe I'd start a 'manager out' group within hours of his arrival?

Oh, and you always got behind Camp when he was here didn't you? I was 100% behind whoever pulled on the red jersey. I wasn't happy with some aspects of Smith's game and have every right to display my feelings, but do not mistake this for someone who boos everything he does.

I do believe you'd start a 'manager out' group, because that is exactly what you did! You clearly weren't happy with the appointment and wanted to make your feelings known. The group didn't seem like a joke to me and given your feelings about the appointment, I do not see how it can be described as a 'joke group'. It's easy to change your stance now that Billy Davies has proven to be success and say the whole thing was done for a laugh, but I wonder whether you'd be saying the same thing if Davies had failed to save us from relegation?

I seem to remember DOUBT being started some time after his appointment, about 6 weeks when we'd done nothing in the January transfer window. Davies was slagging the players off, calling them babies, inexperienced, out of their depth and then preceeding to appear to do little about it.

As a loyal Nottingham Forest Fan I believe it is my duty to stand loyal to that institution, and that means:

When we are doing things right, purchasing players who will improve the squad, appointing managers who can take us forward and playing the type of attacking entertaining football that we are famous for, and showing that we are serious about getting back to the very top of the British football ladder - then I believe we should all get behind the Team, Squad, Manager and Board. That appears to be what is happening this summer and I am feeling very proud to be a Forest Fan again...

But don't try and paint me or any "True" Forest fan as disloyal if, when things don't appear to be going in the right direction, We get on here or any other forum, Pub, Workplace, Radio station, Home or Terrace and shout and scream that it isn't working.

I claim no inside knowledge of the way the club is run... I dont know Mark Arthur, Nigel Doughty, Billiy Davies or any of the staff. What I do know is that Nottingham Forest languishing in the third tier of English football was an abysmal failure. What I do believe is that if the club were managed properly that would never have happened. What I do not know is what was the root cause of that failure. Was it ND/MA ? Was it the actions and greed of the previous administration? Was it a succession of bad managers ? Was it lack of investment at crucial times? Was it a combination of all these factors? Probably! While this failure was happening I was a vocal critic of the way the club was being run - I never saw what I considered to be an adequate explanation for the club's fall from greatness so I shouted and demanded that something be done. Year after year I, like thousands of other Forest Fans have Invested hundreds if not thousands of pounds for the honor of watching the institution that we love.

I am a Nottingham Forest fan, not a ND, MA, BD fan not even a BC and PT fan to the detriment of the club. This year we appear to be doing things the right way and as long as we are you can bet ND, MA, BD and all the others involved will get my full backing... and vocal support

But never call me or the other "True" Forest Fans disloyal for demanding the club is run properly and, as importantly, is shown to be so ...

A very good post. Let's not forget that all we are doing at the moment is spending money. Not a ball has been kicked in anger, we could still be relegated...

All in all as I said before, no-one should be asked or need to apologise for their opinion. Irellivent if it upset a few people or not, we will never agree and if we did, life would be dull...

The whole situation should never have been brought up by Rich in the first place (that is my opion) as it started off by giving credit to the sources who have been right.

Facts are simple, this has been the best summer for a long time, now lets just f***ing enjoy it and have a united front.... :)

I see what you're saying - and what makes it worse is that the level of expectation is now higher than for many previous years, too !

Exactly. All those that are heralding ND, MA & BD now, what will the hysteria be if we are bottom of the league at Christmas?

As much as 'credit where it's due' and all that, Guinless basically listed a load of players ages ago and said we'd signed them. We've signed some of them. A broken clock is right twice a day.

PSR, to be fair, called the Camp signing about an hour after Neil had told me and I'd posted it. I don't think he's called anything else, although I could be wrong.

As ever, Capello has been 100% spot on with everything, giving us names, prices, time frames and everything. He hasn't done vague, he's done factual.

As regards Sedgred, I'm amazed anyone ever doubted his knowledge on this sort of thing.

However, Dan, in keeping with the 'credit where it is due' ethos, I'd personally like to see those of you on here who have been uber critical of Mark Arthur and/or Nigel Doughty hold your hands up and say that we have a winning team behind the scenes now.

Not wanting to get at you specifically, but the insinuation that those behind the scenes have ever had anything but Forest's best interests at heart has always riled me. This summer they have been able to show their support properly, although lets not forget for the last few summers we've always spent big compared to the teams we were playing against.

So, if any credit is due, it is to the owners and people who run the club.

Still, you could always moan about the delay in the shirts.

I am suprised Van Hooijdon's Son hasn't been on saying how good he has been at giving us information - he likes blowing his own trumpet!!

His rating was Capello, PSR and then him i recall

For a start - We wont be, but all we wanted is effort and ambition... We have seen evidence of this...

Time to move on, this broken record is getting rather annoying.... ;D

You won't be Dan - but there are plenty that will.

But you're right. Let's just enjoy the ride whilst we're on a high.

Totally agree,

Indeed, it's this constant harking back to the 'doubters' views that just gives us all an opportunity to remind us all that just a few years ago things were not so rosy.

It's time for us all to move on.

Ambition has been shown, you can't really ask for more than that really.

D'you know what is annoying about threads like this.

People come on and assume that time stands still.

Things are going badly, people criticise. Some people don't. They lay in wait until things aren't going badly and then say "Aaah, see, I was right!"

Well no, no you weren't. You were patient, granted. But you weren't right.

The same goes for the other way around. When things go well and there's still somebody looking to piss on everyone's chips, well if things go wrong afterwards, they weren't right all along either.

People need to accept that situations change - and cease this f***ing pointless crusade to have been 'right all along'.
