Could Perch now be a QPR target?

Paul Hart has always been an admirer, and QPR have the means to pay what is required.

If the rumor of him offering 1mil in the summer is too believed, I imagine he will be on his way.

Thoughts?

How would everyone feel about losing him?

I remember years ago just before his sacking at Forest, Hart citing McGugan as one to really watch out for, which of course has been correct.

With him not getting much game time currently at Forest, it wouldn't surprise me if he attempts to entice him away. I hope not though.

As for Perch, they're welcome to him!

He's been a good servant to Forest, but in Billy's new world he is nothing but a spare part. In all honesty he'll be lucky to make the bench most weeks.

Goodbye, good luck and if we make a few quid out of it all the better.

James Perch has played some great games for Forest yet has been dogged with injuries. During his last spell out, we've moved onwards and upwards and made good provision for both positions he's played in. I fear that he will see little other than the bench for the remaining season unless he and Billy believe it's time for a change or move.

He's a good player at this level yet I can not see him achieving much more with us. I shall be sad if he goes and I would wish him well.

I don't really want anyone to leave and Perch, for me, is good cover for Gunter at right-back as I think Chambo is more of a centre-back these days in King Billy's eyes.

However, if we were offered upwards of £1m, I think we'd be daft to turn it down as you can get even better cover in a specialist right-back rather than a jack of all trades for less.

I like him and think he always gives his all when he plays, but I think he suffers from the aforementioned jack-of-all-trades syndrome much like John Thompson did when he was here. There is no comparison between their abilities, though.

I like Perch but in the near futuire he doesn't look like getting near the squad. Moussi is before Perch after McKenna. If we did keep him, he might be useful for when McKenna is finished, but I can't see him staying around that long.

Trouble is, Perch is worth keeping if only for the 'must have a player to blame' crew to lay off the other lads.

No, McGoldrick. Adebola and to a lesser extent Garner will fill that role perfectly!

You're talking Moussi/McKenna and Perch in the same sentence so I assume you think of Perch as a midfielder.

Perch's worst games have all come from midfield and he says himself his best position is at the back.

Yes, he would be good cover for Gunter or an emergency c/back but he's way down the pecking order for a m/field spot.

Should other players that BD has lined up come in, the competition for places will get worse which will also possibly mean we have seen the last of Lynch & Bennet as well.

With talk of Bale & Shorey plus others Billy has in mind it seems we are now bringing in a better class of player, so I can't see us holding on to Perch - Lynch or Bennet.

We haven't got a reserve side any longer so I wouldn't imagine these lads wanting to wait around for the odd friendly fixture to come along. To be fair, it would be better for them to go elsewhere in hope of finding regular 1st team football.

Bit of a shame but the club is moving on and we all know there is no sentiment in football and to be fair if we were to get into the big boys league I doubt whether any of those 3 would hack it.

I think Bennett will stay beyond the summer, but not Perch.

I think he's keeping Lynch as central defensive cover until we can sign anyone else.

Then why would he sign Lynch? I think the club see him as a serious challenger to the CB places in the future. While he was at Brighton there was a bit of Prem interest in him. Then he got a bit mardy and fell out of favour. I think Billy could be the one to see him realise his potential.
However, Wes and Kelvin are doing great and I wouldn't be surprised to see another CB come in. Bizarley, I think Wes could lose his place.
