Cohen in tears...

So glad that Cohen got the best goal last night and scored which is some topping of Maje's.

He deserved his goal for the energy he puts in, and did you see him pretty much in tears after he scored. Obviously meant so much to him.

Fully deserved Player of the season last year and just optimises the work rate that the players are putting in.

Well done Chris, glad you enjoyed your goal last night!

It was some champagne football that lead to that goal. It was well taken as well, hopefully with confidence flowing through the team Cohen can grab a few more goals like that, we all know he is capable.

Did well last night but I mentioned to some of the lads last night that I think the team is out growing him.

He was my player of the season last year but I think technically you can see that he isn't at the same level as the other 10 players on the pitch.

However, he runs his heart out and until we get someone better I am more than happy to have Chris Cohen in my side.

Long term though I see him as a squad player

It's sad, but it's a good point. It's a shame he hasn't been able to play in one position all season, then I think he may be up there with the rest of them. He is still good enough though.

Think Billy sees him as an important part of the team his energy and workrate makes up for any flaws in his play, get the feeling he'll start adding goals to his game like he did at Yeovil if he does we've got a great player on our hands.

Re his goal last night how integral was Moussi in the that, one touch dictating play he had a great game yesterday along with the rest of midfiled, should be interesting to see our 4-5-1 formation against the sh***ers could this be the game when non league nige leaves the scum?

Forget the level - that goal was one of the best moves I've ever seen for Forest. BTW I though Moussi was tremendous last night.

Did you notice that he nicks the ball away from a West Brom player at the start of the move, even that is done with nonchalence as though he expects to win it, although he probably doesn't look favourite.

That's confidence for you. :)

Cohens goal was amazing, the one touch football was as good if not better than any I've seen from any Prem team this season.

BD really has created something special at Forest. ;D

I think it's complete nonsense to suggest the team is out-growing Cohen. He was involved in two of the three goals last night and played some beautiful football in link-up with McKenna and Moussi. He's an integral part of the side's pressure approach in getting in the opposition's faces, and can always be relied upon to chip in with the odd assist (hence why he's amongst our top providers of goals over the season, despite playing all over the place). If he could add composure to his game, he'd score a fair few more goals and probably be appreciated more. Personally, I think he's the perfect sort of midfielder at this level.

I would say only Majewski is 'technically' better than him, but he's technically better than anybody else in our squad.

I'd hardly put people like Wes, Blackstock, Earnie, McKenna etc ahead of him. Shorey is excellent but has one foot, which is maybe why he struggles in the Premiership and Ando, Gunter, Wilson are about on the same level as Cohen.

Cohen is still very young though, and he's getting better. I mentioned it in the WBA thread, but Cohen is actually starting to get into better attacking positions lately, and has been having more efforts on goal and it was just a matter of time before he got one. Hopefully he'll kick on and get a few more now - that will be more telling than 1 goal.

Absolutely, Cohen is quality at this level and you don't come through the West Ham academy without being able to play a bit. People forget that he has had to play in 4 or 5 different positions this season, including an uncomfortable couple of months as a makeshift left back and he is only 22! He is growing as a player all the time and I think BD will view him as a potential McKenna replacement in the long-term.

Don't forget this lad is 22. As he plays in a bigger and better team, such as the one we are culturing now, he will also develop. Can't disagree more that the 'team is outgrowing him' ???

The team outgrowing Chris Cohen?

Not a chance. He was player of the year last year, deservedly so, in a regular place in midfield (either left or centre).

This year, he's been deployed at left back, left midfield, right midfield, centre midfield, defensive midfield and attacking midfield. Has he looked out of place? No way.

He's still a young lad, and - like the majority of the squad - has upped his game this year, which is why we're 2nd and not 19th!

Chris is an integral part of the team, and hopefully will be for several years, including - if we get there - in the Premier League; I really think he has the potential to play at that level.

Personally I feel that Cohen is an excellent player. The fact that BD trusts him to play in all these different positions shows how much he rates him. If he can add more goals to his game then he is going to go from strength to strength. Was delighted he scored last night and felt that his hard work was rewarded!
