Clough vs. Revie at Waterstones

With all the controversy surrounding the release of the Damned Utd distracting everyone, we've teamed up with Aurum press to hold a Clough vs. Revie evening on Thursday 2nd April.

Duncan 'Provided you don't kiss me' Hamilton will be in Clough's corner, librally adding 'Cloughisms' from his new book 'Old Big Ead- the wit and wisdom of Brian Clough'. Facing him will be Guardian columnist Rob Bagchi whose 'The Unforgiven- the story of Don Revie's Leeds Utd' is re-released this month.

It promises to be an evening of lively debate and contrasting opinions. A must for all football fans, particularly those who remember when football wasn't all about earrings andd WAGS. We're also hoping to show the infamous Clough and Revie interview from Yorkshire TV.

Thursday 2nd April, 7pm
Tickets £3 (redeemable against purchase of either featured book)

Hopefully it will be as good as this!

Can't find the full interview anymore.

I imagine there will be a good LTLF presence at this.

Who's up for it?

'We only lost 4 matches'
'Well, I could only lose 3'

That scene is in The Damned United film. It's done brilliantly.

Just got tickets for this - there's a few left too.

Would be nice to have some LTLF-based company...meet some of you...come on...you know you want to...?

There are pubs nearby too!

Just wanted to bump this, as I didn't know which day it was on.

This leaves me Wednesday evening free. If only there was a film I really wanted to see....

Anyone fancy a Wednesday evening trip to see The Damned United?

I could potentially be tempted to see it again.

I need to be at home between 6:30-7:30 for a courier dude, so it would need to be a lateish showing.

Lateish showing is good for me.

Perhaps ALex could be so good as to tell us what the times are...

Yes, saw it last night. It was eerily similar, and the atmosphere created was amazing. It was inaccurate in so much as it painted Revie as the 'winner' and Cloughie as the broken man, when clearly Clough was the most cool and confident on the night, and was winding Revie up. I don't mind though, I realise it's a novel and perhaps it was even more entertaining this way.

Clough was brilliant in that interview, and with good reason.

His pay off from Leeds that day set him up for life.

He'd made as much money from Leeds in 44 days as Revie had in years there. In Cloughs mind, that made him the winner!
