Clough Documentary

Not sure if anyone has posted this up.

On again Tonight.

Really worth a watch if you didn't catch it the first time around. Or if you did worth another watch. I think I'll shed a tear watching it again, more than likely.

Tonight ITV1 - 22:40. However it may be different depending if your in the N.I as I am, it starts 5 mins before.

Just finished watching it on ITV.

As you can tell by the user name, I'm an Albion fan, not a Red :)

But, I have got to say that you are lucky to have had, in my opinion, the best manager that this country has ever seen and that England never had.

I remember shouting for Forest as a kid when everyone thought that Liverpool ruled the world and the great man showed them that they didn't .

It was nice to see the statue as well, good on you for coughing up for it.

Hopefully we'll play again soon, whether that be by our continued fall or, hopefully, by your rise.

Respects to Cloughy, a true sporting legend.

Good luck lads and good luck to Forest.

Regards

Baggie Boy

What he said, we have had a few fans from other teams coming on here in recent weeks who seem to like/enjoy the forum. Hope you stick around, it's always nice to get an alternative view of things. :)

Thanks, Baggie Boy! Welcome aboard!

The Clough doc brought a tear to the eye in places, and an overwhelming sense of pride in others.

Cloughie was truly unique, and we were so fortunate to have had the best of him.

The Prem's very tight this year and with 18 points still to play for, while you're looking up at the mo, it'll only take a couple of games for that to turn around. I could pick several teams around you that I'd rather see down than you guys, so good luck with the fight.

Would like to play you some time soon, one way or the other, though, as you inspire my favourite football chant - the "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside..." one... ;D :D :D :D

Do please hang around - it's always good to have a civilised "other" posting on here.
:)

Clough was so overrated. He might have achieved a couple of cup wins when Taylor was here but after that he was useless. We only won the Premiership once, the European Cup twice and the League Cup about thirty two times.

Compare that to the record of his arch rival, Joe Kinnear.

I forgot to ask, who the hell has a pet called Mucky?

Was it a pig?

Mucky was a cat mate, my mum named him before I was born. When he was a kitten he would always come back to the house filthy.

No wonder my post count..
Gah. Every time I see a Cloughie Documentary thread, I end up looking forward to watching it, only then I find out it was yesterday!

Can be awkward and ask for some kind of PM reminder when it's on again? I really want to catch it this time!

Drop Flagman a PM, and he may be kind enough to burn you off a copy onto DVD, as he has done for a few of us.

ITV have also released the documentary on DVD now, with the handsome price tag of £13 (at least that's what it is in Fopp).

I think one of the best comments might have been made by John McGovern when asked if he'd ever socialise with Cloughy out-of-hours, saying that he wouldn't, "hes not the type of guy you'd socialise with, but work for? Oh you'd work for him.."

Says everything about the guy.. true leader of men.

Yea that line stuck out in my head aswell. Viv Anderson used it aswell on Goals on Sunday, when talking about that documentary.

"He's not the type of guy I would go for a drink with. But work for him. I'd walk across the Sahara Desert"

I'm glad they didn't play the interview from after his last game at Forest, as I would have broken down into tears that simply could not have been controlled.

Is this on the internet somewhere? Beyond my time unfortunately.

It's right at the end of that clip of another Clough programme which isn't as good I don't think.

Ubique/ Filthy Beaver - I forgot to give you your DVD the other day (or was I just so drunk that I forgot?)

How can I get it to you?

Drunken Mods? surely not!

He wasn't as drunk as the rest of us, in his defence. Although he was with us when we were kicked out of Hubble for over-celebrating.

Was I? Were we? What happened?

I do remember bouncing off the walls, hedges and railings all the way down London Road... :bottles: :panthers: somehow made it to Antalya's for an excellent burger/chilli sauce, then (literally) staggered off to bed...
