Claude Davis to Forest?

More from that old washbag....footballrumours.co.uk

Billy Davies is continuing his hunt for new defenders and he is now turning his attention to a double swoop for Callum Davidson and Youl Mawéné.

Claude Davis has signed for Nottingham Forest and it will be announced next week.

Former Glasgow Rangers midfielder Bob Malcolm is set to sign for Nottingham Forest from A–League side Brisbane Roar.

Malcolm was signed by Billy Davies in his Derby County days, and the SCottish manager has always been a keen admirer of the player.

A fee of £250,000 is expected.

Mills and Fox look set to join Billy Davies´ revolution at Nottingham Forest. A deal worth 2 million for Mills and 2.2 mil for Fox looks to be on the cards. Majewski, the Polish international, looks set to be brought in on loan.

The rumours surrounding Claude Davies moving to Forest are complete rubbish. The defender is interested in a move to Crystal Palace – if Nigel feels his Derby squad can do without the player (who is contemplating a reduced wage offer from the club).

Forest close in on Claude Davis and Jay McCeverly are poised to join the Red revolution this week. My mate at Clifton as said Forest have turned to Claude Davis, available on a free from Derby County and have had a £500,000 offer accepted for McCeverley by Derby.

Actually won't be surprised if Davies actually goes in for Claude Davis once he secure his release from derby. Billy obviously had rated him in the past when he worked with him at preston , then signed him up for Derby.
Palace had been linked with signing him up once he's a free agent but they apparently are going to sign Patrick Kisnorbo so they might not have interest in Davis anymore.

Not as far as i know , he was on trial but he didn't play in their last match , the rumor was that he choose Palace over Derby.

Wouldn't suprise me if we did pick him up on a free...

Honestly we could do worse, for the premiership ok shite, but ask Preston and Palace fans then he is a solid reliable championship defender.

the thing is, hasnt everybody notcied that the amount of players mentioned on Football Rumours is impossible for us to buy? there must have been at least 20 names mentioned this summer.

Fox would cost way too much , there are better cheaper alternatives. After Gunter signed , i think lee naylor should be good enough on the left. We just need someone who's solid enough , doesn't have to be spectacular as we have the players now in midfield and attack to be an attacking threat.

Why be just "good enough".

If they are young, and an investment and will be worth lots more in future, then its well worth ND spending 5m on getting them both, and nurturing them under BD.

Great investment, and also not just.............good enough's...........but more "better than the rest".

I think Bennett will do well under BD after he healed from his injury , Fox is nothing more right now than a glorified overhyped flavor of the month and not worth the money coventry is asking for.

its all just derby and preston players, all abit poor really. now if they had said callum davenport then id be happy, he always looked good when he played against us, even if he did look like a gypo

Callum Davenport would certainly fit the bill of a tall and big center back , doesn't seemed to have cut it at premiership level though but i think at this level , he would be good.

Yeah id go along with Davenport, as you said hes always played well against us,and hes got experience, could be what we are looking for?

Plus regarding Fox, i do think he is more than worth going for, one for the future and all that, but if the price keeps going up for him, then i would go for another, we are wasting valuable time in waiting for Coventry to make up their minds.

Lee Naylor would be a good alternative and is much cheaper than Fox, plus he has got lots of experience and has been there before.

Does anyone know which position Neal Eardley of Oldham plays in, is it left or right back? because this lad is going places, hes quick, a very good passer of the ball and can tackle well plus he can cross a good ball, perhaps another alternative? who knows?

He plays right back. And is class.

Eardley's a right back, was linked with Derby and Blackpool yesterday.

Decent young player, not a patch on Gunter, though.

Blackpool & Derby reportedly looking at Eardley , derby apparently getting fed up over their stalemate with Crewe over John Brayford valuation.
