City Centre Shop

Why don't forest/kitbag open a shop in the city center surely this would be better than just having the one out in the 'burbs?

Plus it would more than likely attract more fans and increase revenues!

There was a plan for a new shop on the square, but MArthur spent the money for it on a new golf cart and a 9 iron.

I'm sure Forest have dabbled with a shop in town in the past, I could be imagining it though - but was it on Clumber Street?

Renting a decent site would be pricey, so they'd need to be confident it would make plenty of cash above and beyond what it would cannibalise from the City Ground shop. I'm not sure it would with Forest at their current standing - if they were able to claw their way up to the top flight then it might be worthwhile to cash in on tourists.

Currently I doubt many tourists would buy a Forest shirt.

KitBag are prone to this apparently. They did it with Everton but obviously the market is bigger there. Who knows, it might tempt those people who live north of, and/or work in the city centre to get a shirt or some merchandise for birthdays etc.

I'm sure KitBag will be looking into it though, even if it's on the condition we get promoted.

dosnt the nottingham tourist centre, to the side of the square stock some forest merchandise, maybe theyll start stocking some shirts aswell soon if demand is deemed big enough, how ever if in town more people are more likely to buy the shirt from sports world were it will most likely be of a cheaper price

can't remember seeing any Forest stuff in there Joe - loads of Robin Hood tat and some hoodies so you can pretend to be a NTU student but that's about it

Give the gentleman a coconut, twas in the heady days of European success, somewhere near/opposite side of the road to the Vic Centre.

Masive overheads for what is a limited customer base, more chance of signing a Left Back than this happpening again.

They should consider a cheaper option of pitching a concession area in somewhere like Debenhams.

Cheaper and prime to pick up casual shoppers plus people buying gifts for children and grandchildren.

I don't really see the need to spend an outrageous amount of money to fund a city centre franchise selling Forest merchandise that you can already buy in the spanking new Club Shop and online.

Most people wanting Forest related merchandise are within the vicinity of the City Ground at some point or indeed have access to a computer.

However, what infuriates me is that other Sports Retailers who do sell Forest kits don't support the local teams further with more merchandise. You can buy Arsenal gummi bears and a Manchester United pencil with a rubber on the end but nothing Forest, Notts or Mansfield related.

A full blown shop in addition to the City Ground one is overkill unless Forest are in the Premier League big four. You could always rent out part of a shop or a cheaper alternative would be to have a market stand in the middle of a shopping mall.

Nottingham Forest FC is a business and they dont give a shit what true fans want. I know, they have screwed me out of an extra £30 as my season ticket for the same seat is now a 'Best' seat.
And have you noticed in sports shops Manure and Scouse shirts have been on sale for ages, there is no bargains on our new shirt, they wont be in town until the club have sold their $ha£e.
