He’s matured like a fine vintage wine, and currently, is being enjoyed like the absolute finest of vintage wines, and Forest should sign him up to that he can be enjoyed for the next couple of seasons, at least.

Had a cheeky look at the Newcastle forums, i'd forgotten that he'd turned into R9 at St James Park.

I like to think Wood's form being so long lasting now that surely other strikers will be taking notice for when the time comes that he needs to be replaced

You'd think they'd see Forest as a great opportunity to get goals and increase their reputation, rather than Forest having to try and convince them to join we'll hopefully be seen as a place to be

He's proving it wasn't just a brief hot steak or a few lucky moments, a year of constant goal scoring in the prem turns any younger striker into a potential 65mil player (Solanke) or 400k a week Saudi player (Toney), you'd imagine the prospect of that will be hard to turn down

One word... Attitude

The whole myth of Forest being a striker's graveyard was always BS, but a striker with the wrong attitude will never succeed and we had our fair share of those over the years (bad recruitment).

Second word... Professional Work Rate

Was that ever a myth? I have never heard that before, we have had some good strikers over the years even when we were crap.

Yeah, there's a risk thar we pay him for a year when he's too old and can't get a game. But better that than we let him go too early.
Get him signed up
He brings so much more to the squad than goals on a Saturday - he is a real leader on & off the pitch
2nd priority should be to get his young replacement in asap - so that he can learn from him over the next two seasons

Forgive me if this has been a thing that I’ve missed being a satellite supporter but does anyone connected with Forest in any way call him the “Wood Chopper”?

In many respects this is a battle of two strikers. I loved Alexander Isak's header for Newcastle against Arsenal last week. It was a classic centre-forward’s finish.

But this is the Chris Wood derby - aka the 'Wood Chopper' derby - and I am backing him to give Nottingham Forest the cutting edge they need against his former club.

Never heard that before ever. Where's that quote from? Is it a yank?

We were a graveyard for many players all over the pitch from McClaren until Maranakis
