When he lined up that spot kick, I knew he was going to score.

He just looked confident.

Is penalty award process was slowly playing out, I was feeling confident that we'd be 1 up soon, as supposed to a MGW one which I wouldn't even say is 50-50 these days.

Wood coming back into the side has also given team that extra dimension up front and hopefully makes the difference in is staying up.

We just missed every aspect of his game

He cleared about 5 set pieces alone, he was moved to the far post and won the ball every time it went back there (another good spot from our set piece coach).

I remember saying a few weeks before he came back he will give everyone around him such confidence having him back because he is such a good player - look at everyone!!!

Newcastle always like to talk about us taking Elliot off their hands and them losing out significantly as a result but despite looking like we’d overpaid by about £14m, Woody might actually be one of the best signings this club has made in the modern era.

How much Newcastle would love a Chris Wood right now considering how much they spent on strikers this summer.

Spot on. Other teams obviously valued his goals. But clearly it’s every part of him and his game valued at Forest. He shows that if you keep yourself in top condition and the right attitude you can play beyond expectations at the very top. Maybe some clubs will rethink their strategy a bit on out and out goalscorers

This shirt arrived yesterday. Good timing with the news of Tuchel's England squad. Think these guys can be my team for the summer. Probably starting on June 6th.

First time since the nineties I've bought a football shirt with a name on the back. Might be too old for it (I know there's a thread on this forum about that), but I think it's a great shirt.

Would it be acceptable as an Englishman to wear this at the test match v NZ at Trent Bridge? Stokes would surely approve.

I hope he gets past the Bournemouth game unscathed, I would be gutted for him if he missed the World Cup - likely his last one, although at the same time based on how professional he is, probably not!
I think he should be on the bench on Sunday, for his own good. Taiwo has shown plenty in recent weeks and less game time for Woody to risk injury. Id be tempted to bench Elliot too if I'm honest. He deserves to go to the world cup fit and healthy.

This shirt is stunning! And so cool too. OK, it doesn't have the Forest badge on, but it's just gorgeous, and Woody IS a no9.

I completely agree in regards to Wood. I would start Elliot though, full strength apart from Woody. Unique circumstances for him, no doubt he was rushed back & this'll be his last hurrah for NZ.

I couldn't disagree more mate. Their primary commitment should be to their employers, by whom they're both handsomely paid. I don't doubt however that either of them feels otherwise.

Yeah. Waited for the official announcement to be safe as we're si used to seeing him wearing #11, but think he's always been #9 for NZ.

Did one of those World Cup predictor things about a month ago and had NZ playing Australia in the second round. Which would be fun. He is already so popular in his homeland that they created the Pride of New Zealand award to give to him. Imagine if he scored the winner for NZ against the Aussies at the World Cup then he'd be elevated to Jonah Lomu/Dan Carter/Split Enz godlike status. Make it happen, Woody.

Failing that, just score against England and do the MGW fingers in the ears celebration.

I had no idea he was such a favourite at home. So hopefully little groups of new Forest fans are setting up camp in that far off land. Obviously my London centric friend in Christchurch (New Zealand and opposed to the Christchurch of my father , which was in Hampshire, but, much to his chagrin, was shunted into Dorset) will not be joining in, but he's beyond hope.

I’m getting one of those. I had a 2010 NZ shirt as a result of a sweepstake at work. Wore it regularly and only had to throw it away a few months ago. If the new ones are the same quality it should see me out.
