Christopher Grant Wood of NEW ZEALAND!

Just heard the appalling James Perch on Radio Nottingham, commenting on Chris Wood he had no idea NZ had qualified for the World Cup !!

The lad obv unaware that this year, due to expanded number of teams in the finals, the Oceania winner for the first time qualifies direct.
Prev there were playoffs with central/south American sides.

More likely to find his form, then immediately break down again. This season has been like that.
That may be all we need, even if it only wins us a few points

Having Wood back will make the rest of the team feel 10 foot tall, you can see their frustration at having no real goal threat from a striker. They will know if they create, he will be there - it will encourage more risk & creativity in attacking areas.

I think Taiwo with more game time would have delivered more up top than Lucca or Jesus has.

Maybe Perch dos about 10 jobs since retiring from football, all that he does badly, he should just find one job and work at it!!
He was great at taking folk on sleighs down the steep hill in berry hill quarry estate in his range rover 😂

If all goes well we will hopefully have Wood back to play a part against Villa on April 12th or maybe even Porto on the 9th. Even as just as a option of the bench for 20 minutes if its 0-0 or we are a goal down he could make all the difference and help us get a point or all 3.

He wasn't that great a player either.
He reminded me a lot of John Winfield.
Maybe Perchy should open a newsagents in the Victoria Centre.
Similar to the excellent John McGovern later, I believe that Winfield was another who received ridiculously unfair criticism from a certain section of the fanbase because of his awkward and ungainly running style. He was a mainstay and a vital cog in Johnny Carey's side.

‘Winnie’ was of course the last of Johnny Carey’s excellent team to leave the City Ground in 1974.

He received plenty of mainly good-natured barracking from the East Stand terrace as Forest slumped towards
relegation and probably suffered as Forest lost their better players without replacing them properly.

He was definitely a club stalwart in that era.

I know he was rated by his teammates Norman. ISM has always spoken highly of him; as too did Robbo.

Surely an ex pro making a living talking to us about the game doesn't need to know such insignificant details?

I thought that McAtee put an absolute exquisite ball through for Yates last night and to be fair he got a decent strike away that hit the bar, but I can't help but feel if Wood is on the end of that it's a goal.
