Not much point him being in either named squad if he’s done for the year. That’ll be the indicator I’d guess.

Either him or John Victor will be though in the PL - we have 26 players by my reckoning. I can see Wood getting the nod.

Europa we're already replacing Kali and Zinc so have exactly one more change possible. Wood a good candidate there agreed.

It's already been said that John Victor is done for the season, so he won't be named in the PL squad.

Moreira as well, though that's probably even less likely.

Could also consider adding Ortega as a full squad member. But probably makes more sense for him to be a temporary injury replacement for Sels as it doesn't use up one of the 3 spots.

In a way, it feels like we're still paying the price for Nuno's toys-out-the pram decisions with regards to the squad - as ideally we'd probably want to lose Boly as well.

Read the rules again and think I’m talking bollocks! If we can only register 3 new players (2 of which are replacing players we no longer have) then in reality, we can only make 1 ‘change’.

32.01
After the completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registrations must be completed by 5 February 2026 (24:00 CET) at the latest.

32.02
Exceptionally and without prejudice to Paragraph 32.01, clubs participating in domestic championships that start and end in the same calendar year are entitled to additional player registrations in the following cases:

  1. If more than five players on the club's List A are no longer registered with their national association as playing for the club concerned after completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, the club may register one additional player, i.e. a total of four new eligible players, for the remaining matches in the current competition.
  2. If more than seven players on the club's List A are no longer registered with their national association as playing for the club concerned after completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, the club may register two additional players, i.e. a total of five new eligible players, for the remaining matches in the current competition.
Such exceptional registrations must be completed by 5 February 2026 (24:00 CET) at the latest

Players on our A-list who are no longer registered as playing for us - that's just Kalimuendo and Luiz, right? So we wouldn't hit the 'more than five' rule.

To be fair, the only other change I would have made was Jair Cunha for Boly, so not a big deal.

Says here March 26th is the deadline if a spot is unused for the PL. However, I seem to remember there's a rule all available and contracted players must be registered? So Wood (or John) has to be in regardless. Dunno though in truth.

Plus, our season doesn't start and end in the same calendar year (ie a summer season), so we wouldn't qualify for it anyway.

Yeah I think even if you don't fill the 25 in the original squad list(didn't we put 22 in?), you're still limited to a max of 3 new players before the knockouts
