Seems to be getting back to his best. It was clear that earlier in the season he was not 100% fit and being asked to play in a different position every week was not helping his form at all.
However i think that given a good consecutive run of games in the left back position he can really improve and learn and establish himself in our back four.

In a few of the early games he was making good interceptions and tackles but is positioning was awful. He wandered off a few times as well. Probably because he has learnt to play the game as a hardworking central midfielder who covers a lot of the pitch so staying in position goes against his natural instincts.

Recently his positioning has been excellent and he has started to get forward like a full back should, without leaving a gaping hole behind him. He looks more like a left back everytime I see him and made some very good tackles and interceptions on Saturday.

Central midfield is our strongest area so the more he learns to play left back the better.

I thought this too. Newcastle did nothing down Cohen's side in the 2nd half. It all went down our right, which is surprising because Anderson is usually vert adept at defending, but he seemed to get caught drifting inside a few times. Tyson kept letting that guy cut inside onto his right foot every time too

I was getting really frustrated with that too!

I was quite surprised saturday because his defending seemed to be very very good!

Although there is still an issue for me with his commiting foward too often. Most teams have exploited us on the break down the right because Cohen has been caught in the oppositions half! It can't happen too often again.

I would put Lynch back there personally simply because he can defend a lot better but we've won 4 on the trot with Cohen there and for me you should never change a winning formula unless you have to.

I think it helped Cohen that Newcastle are not blessed with great wingers and they seem to do a lot of their attacking through the middle (mainly with long balls). Having said that, I thought Cohen, like the rest of the defence, were excellent all the same.

There's nothing more annoying than seeing the same player do the same thing over and over, yet your team mate still doesn't realise after the 5th time :D

As Lynch gets skinned/fails to stop the cross AGAIN! I could defend better than Lynch and i'm currently on crutches
