Charlie Austin

Snorlax

Youth Team
Burnley, Forest and Boro all chasing £1m Swindon starlet

Swindon hot shot Charlie Austin is a £1million target for a host of Championship clubs.

Burnley, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough are all tracking the 20-year-old striker who scored 20 goals in 31 games for Swindon last season.

Austin, called up for England under-21s last term, missed out on promotion as Swindon lost the play-off final to Millwall and is now catching the eye in the Championship

We already have one thanks :|

I can just see the headine if he does well.

Austin Powers Forest up league
I'll get my coat.

He would be a fantastic signing at a million and he is only going to get better!

In 5 years time he could easily be worth 5x that or more!

It looks like moving about 5 levels up the football league (from Poole town to Swindon) has hardly affected him at all. I can't envisage one more level being a problem for him.

played for the same local tem as theo walcott while my uncle was manager and back then austin was the better player aparently, dont know if that means anything now though lol

He can keep Joe Garner company on the bench. :(

Goal scoring record, albiet at a low level, looks the biz. I'd certainly sooner give him a go rather than McGoldrick or Adebola coming on when chasing a game.

Since when is 12 goals in 64 appearances lots of goals? (His overall record at Southampton)

Austin has scored twice as many in half as many games last season alone and right now we only have one striker who has ever scored 20+ goals in a season, let alone by the age of 20.

Sign him up I say!!!

I think if we're buying him, we've gotta sign him to think he's gonna be a first choice player. I don't see any point in signing a young lad like Austin and then chucking him on the bench, a la McGoldrick. It would be a waste and detrimental to him I think

I really hope we don't punt a million quid on someone with one good season in a lower league.

He scored less than Grolt.....
