Changes to the City Ground?

Interesting to read Mckenna's comments about changes to the City Ground.

"And just coming down to Nottingham and seeing the changes that are being made at The City Ground, and how things are being geared up for a shot at promotion, made it a no brainer - I just wanted to put pen to paper."

Does anyone know what is being done. I heard netting was being put in above away fans. I doubt that persuaded him to sign. Maybe rumours of big screens and moving away fans are true?

I think he was referring to changes to the playing staff rather than any physical changes to the stadium?

All the new signings perhaps?

Or maybe Doughty has a better jacket to pose with new players with this season.

In there Gunter interview there is alot noise from workers in the background. Seems like alot is being done to the ground in the off season. Maybe we aren't moving after all.

I think he mean't the club in general..not the stadium

I've read it again, probably he just means signing players and I'm and idiot.

Just a bit strange how he said "and how things are being geared up for promotion." Like he's talking about two seperate things.

Still awaiting confirmation on if we are getting the lower Bridgeford this season

There was a roofing company working on the Main stand when I fetched my season ticket. I've often thought that with a new roof it would look a lot better. Probably just mending the existing one though.

Doubt that very much - West Brom have been sent 2200 tickets and told that they can pay on the day - where else are we going to house 3000+ visiting fans but the Lower Bridgford (no E)/

The fact that we have sold season tickets in the lower clough (the only place that away fans would otherwise sit) I think says that we won't be get the Bridgeford lower.

As far as I know, some of the corporate areas are getting a make-over. Mark Arthur mentioned it in his interview, probably new woodchip wallpaper or such like!

It's not really a firm option, though. I imagine they'll go through the motions and look at the possibility but it'd be impossible to build a World Cup stadium at the CG without making massive changes to the whole surrounding area.

Regarding changes at the ground - they've been working on the roof on the offices behind the main stand, they've also done up the 'Legends suite', it's now called 1865 something. They're also investing heavily into the academy at Wilford lane as that's where Billy wants to do the majority of his 1st team training.

Sod the Tories. They don't want the tram and now this. All they think about is saving money but for what?

Lets just stand-still as a "city" and let Derby or Leciester become the dominant city in the East Midlands

Derby is a f***ing dump, not going to happen :)

Even the Vic Centre doesn't feel too bad after a trip to Derby.

If we extend the CG, new main stand, probs join up a corner, get it to around 46,000 it will be f***ing immense.

look at the great job they did on he Brian Clough stand, 30 years ago still looks top class.

the bridgeford is one of the best looking stands in England.

f*** off to a new ground, yes to a CG extension.

To get it to 46,000 you'd have to buld a Main stand that is twice as big as the Clough stand. Impossible.

A few seasons ago, we were in League 1, we were shit and signing the likes of Blackstock, Gunter, McKenna Anderson and co was impossible :)

Possibly but building a stand that big would be physically impossible without knocking down a load of houses.
