I always like these; although as I am a rather big fan of The Clash, I can tell you the mooted session for John Peel was never actually completed; the band laid down some backing tracks, about half a sessions‘ worth, before deciding the studio equipment wasn’t good enough, and leaving.

Peel was less than impressed with this, describing it as not exactly in accordance with the punk ethos of the band, although Joe Strummer may have had other ideas, as he famously described that „listening to John Peel was like a dog being sick in your face.” in the March 1991 edition of the New Musical Express.
