Can we learn something from the Japanese

Since all the new talk of new stadia ,staying ,moving ,sharing  etc ive been looking around for designs of new stadia without the bowl syndrome ,making an intimidating home end etc and really like the look of this .

Opinions please

the Toyota Stadium BTW has a capacity of 45,000

Yes and no...the roof would need to be more significant to deal with the inclement British weather...the wind would blow rain all over the fans in that current design (plus the uncovered end wouldn't be popular...

true but this roof is retractible to cover the entire pitch, maybe a tweak and have it folding over from both sides ,maybe?????

Oh let me live my fantasy :p :p :p

A nice looking stadium though it looks a little open to the elements in places, obviously the J League don't play games during typhoon season!

Steep stands always look impressive.

True but in Japan they get much harsher weather from winds and storms coming off the Pacific Ocean.

No wonder my post count..
We should follow in the american's footsteps and have retractable pitches:

"An opening on one side of the stadium allows the playing field to move to the exterior of the building, allowing the entire natural turf playing surface to be exposed to daylight when it is not in use and also allowing the floor to be used for other purposes without damaging the playing surface. University of Phoenix Stadium hosted Super Bowl XLII and the 2007 BCS National Championship Game, a game that it hosts quadrennially."

Epic looking stadium. Sure its possible to do something like it with covered ends.
I like the bowl look from the outside but the impression of separate stands inside. Espanyol's new 40k stadium isnt too bad

The Japanese climate can sometimes be wetter than here, and also can be prone to high winds from the sea also.

That design (the Toyota one) is also a fully FIFA-compliant stadium; and I'm sure the roof could be modified to cover all areas of the ground for security and safety.

There are some nice stadia in Japan though, all well built (and, un-surprisingly, all delivered on time and in budget!)

Not sure how Godzilla-proof they are, but I've not - yet - seen Godzilla wading down the Trent so it might not be something we'd need to worry about?

Release a picture of a stadium like that (with a few obvious roof tweaks), drop all mention of women's football and reveal a location slap bang in the city and you'll get me, and I dare say others, onside instantly.

I really don't like it.

It's just another Emirates but they have not joined up the stands so it is a little more distinctive and I also imagine to help with the functioning of the roof.

If we were offered it I wouldn't be disappointed but wouldn't be delighted either.

Anyone like Liverpools's new design? Quite like the idea of a 1 tier end (Kop). Apparently the design boosts the acoustics in the stadium so you can hear all the whining scousers

Is that the one with the roof supported by a curved wall?

That stadium looks like four people designed four stands and didn't talk to other before realising it was too late to make them look like they went together.

He tried once, but Big Wes saw him off.

I like this continental style stadia.

The basic English design looks boring now.

But it doesn't matter anyway because we are staying put ! ;D

Bloody hell. Sorry. I just changed me mind. i like the bottom pic of it but I didnt realise the stands werent perpendicular. Inside looked ok from the one artists impression but I've gone off it now.
