On a good day and if the opposition is on a bad day then yes, most definitely. The team did beat Man City away 3-0 so we do know that they can beat the big boys.

Nope, ridiculous question.

IF we did go up im sure the team would look totaly different, with significant money being spent.

If not, then expect Derbys points total to look reasonable.

if we did go up alot of money would need to be spent as there are only a handful of our squad that would cope in the premier league, however i can't see this happening unfortunately and i could see a speedy return to the championship, however one season in the premier league would dramatically improve our finances at the club. my target in the premier league would be to get more points than der*y

Promotion for me would be mainly about going along way to putting on finances back on track. We cant rely on Nige to be interested/alive forever.

If we go down, who cares? Come back stronger etc.

My cup is always half full. Hey; let's not bother going up! We can just admire those giants in the Prem such as Stoke, Blackburn, Bolton, Brum, Fulham, West Ham, Hull - all massively bigger than our half-arsed club. We should have kept our money when we invested in new players this season and might have still managed to stay in the Championship. We really should know our place.
On the other hand, we could just get there - we could invest sensibly, maybe on players who would have a relegation clause written into their contracts so we wouldn't pay them Prem wages if the worst happened. If we went down then, we could use the £16 million parachute payment to ensure we went straight back up. But why should it be inevitable that we went straight back down?

atm its looking like all 3 of the teams promoted last season could well stay up, that shows the gap isnt as big anymore, I honestly believe there isnt as much of a difference from 10 in the prem to 6th in the championship.

we beat man city 3-0 last season with a weaker team than we have currently so anything can happen. we dont need to wory about beating the top 4 or even top 6 we need points from everything bellow there

the team is obviously going to change if we go up, we will need a new left back, centre back, 2 midfielders and 2 goalscoring stikers. players that could play in prem: camp, gunter, wes, ando, mckenna, possibly cohen. strikers don't score enough wilson could be a good replacement centre back.

Why is there such a big jump between the leagues?

Why is it every **** thinks we won't spend in the summer?

And anderson will be good enough for the prem about 4 times a season. I also suspect wilo will find the prem relatively easier than big wes whose lack of mobility could be horribly exposed

You don't know how players will react to making the step up, anymore than I do.

True, hence me saying i suspect. Generally on forums porters give opinions rather than facts, especially when gazing into the future.....

Prem quality?
All deserve to be tried out but seriously (at the risk of getting some of you spluttering) I have doubts over some of our present heroes. We need a giant CH - half of Ipswich's awkwardness especially in the first half came from the aerial threat of their strikers. Luckily we managed to win the 2nd ball. In the Prem, teams will have us for breakfast unless we can win the 1st ball! Also we'd need more pace at the back - Wilson is quick, but what you pay for in the Prem is real pace. Midfield - we'd need to be tricky AND pacy. Strikers? You are lucky to get a half chance against some teams.
But isn't this the whole point - horses for courses. We need a side to get us up then need to rebuild to keep us up. That's what we pay our manager for. I'm optimistic that we'll acquire enough quality to stay up ............. if we can go up!
