Can anyone detect any jealousy in this...

I don't think they realise that the downward spiral that they're on to get on a 'sound financial footing' is exactly what we've been doing for the past 5 years. Now we've done that, we're in a position to spend.

And Doughty doesn't want the money back in 3 years as they seem to believe. He has publicly stated that he will take the money back owed to him when the club can afford to do so, no time limits mentioned.

Anyone on that board who says they'd rather be in Derby's position than ours is either an idiot or just plain lying.

Brilliant. All they can cling on to is the ''Reported'' debt we owe ND ! Would a businessman (and a fan) loan so much money at the risk of ruining the club ? He has been there and done it ! If the club were sold on then surely the debt would be included in the price ? Funny how every Derby fan has a 'mate' who knows everything about the goings on in the club.

To be honest, I'd be embarrased if I read that load of tripe day-in day-out from a Forest fan on derby ! Clutching at straws comes to mind, as is the attendance figures. Derby are in a position we were in a few years ago. A sucessful business man like ND would never ever make the same mistakes twice. Surely in business, the stability of the asset is the most important aspect ?

They really do make me laugh. The comments are pathetic and laughable and , whilst there are some sensible posters, including the lad on here who seems sound, look to be a poor attempt at justifying why they are below us in most aspects.

I love your post, seriously ! It brings to me the light on a dark winters day ! It makes the birds sing so sweetly and the taste of rain on the tongue as sweet as only the sugariest sugarlump on British Rail ! It flows as gracefully as Robbie Savage's hair and with the strength of Dean Leacocks...errrm.

Only an angel herself could have put it as calmly as the breeze from the ocean or made it as soft as the tinyest puppy snuggling to your lap !

(Not taking the piss, well only out of the Derby fans)

Don't worry, it's just something they're preparing in advance of Saturday to pat themselves on the back with when they walk away from the ground after a 5-0 loss.

"Nevermind about the match Ol' Jimmy, at least we don't have a fiver in the bank like Forest."

Yep, you have f*** all.

Of course they are. They're in serious danger of coming into a shedload of TV money from the Premiership.

A few known facts for the Derby lot should they be reading this -

We have a bright young team that plays great football and is only going to get better.

This team has been assembled at (largely) bargin prices.

We do have a large debt which is held by the club's owner. He loans to us because this way we avoid having to pay tax on any money he gives us.

The repayment date on the loan is flexible and dependent on Forests financial state.

The new, expensive stadium will mostly be built without the club incurring debt.

Financially, we're actually rather sound.

From what we understand of Derby's finances - they're not sound.

Derby are going through the same agonies we went through 4-7 years ago. We had someone that bought us to save us, they have someone who bought them to make a buck.

I know which shoes I'd rather be in.

How the f*** are we like Portsmouth in any way? For a start, Portsmouth went into admin before even Mandaric took over and they got into the PL, and if we do get into the Premiership, it's highly unlikely we will be purchasing numerous players for £5-10 million, £50k-£100k a week wages and big signing on fees like they did.

They do talk some utter shite on that forum.

Oh and "Derby are ahead of the queue" in terms of rebuilding? :D

Sorry, what do you think Forest and Leicester have spent the last few years doing and what are Leeds, Southampton, Charlton and Norwich are doing currently. Derby will either go down to L1 or be a bottom of the table CCC for a long time until they can afford to buy some decent players.

Does anyone know where our wage bill would rank approximately in this division?

I can accept that we would be pushing the top six or so, because quality players like Earnshaw, Gunter and Anderson don't play for free, but many of our best players are young lads who have stepped up considerably since signing their last contract.

These Derby predictions of impending doom at the City Ground are hilarious.

I'm sure the majority of local pub teams are 'sound financially' and thats about the level of ambition those Derby fans seem to have now. In reality they are simply seething at our success.

The main thing I dont get about this assumption that Derby are in a much better financial position than Forest, is their assets.
some of Derby's best players or most promising players have either been sold off, or simply released. The reason they are towards the bottom of the league is the collected worth of their team (financially) doesn't add up to anywhere near Forest.
Now they seem to immediately jump from this to assuming we have spent way beyond our means. But you consider Lewis McGugan is home grown, and he's worth a lot (nothing spent on him), Cohen £600,000 ( half Davies) if we eventually sell him, I see him going for a lot more than that. James Perch home grown, worth quite a bit. In my opinion Tyson is worth more than we payed, McCleary is improving all the time and a huge prospect. Lee Camp, if he continues his form, he will have been a huge bargain.
Then you think about the class we brought in, like Gunter, Earnie, Anderson, Blackstock. Their value isnt going to go down after the way they are playing for Forest.
I would say at the moment we are extremely financially viable, if we were languishing near the bottom on the division we wouldn't be. But we aren't, we are playing the best football in the league. Forest have done their rebuilding, Id say Derby are at least 6-7 years behind where we are now.

Wash your ****in mouth out, When did we change our name to clear a debt. Cretin.

To be fair, a large proportion of them do seem to admit that they would rather be in our position than their own.

Still, all I can think of is giving the f***ers a damn good thrashing on Saturday. I do however, hope that the players are focussed on tomorrows game.

That's irrelevant to my point about the rebuilding of the teams I listed, ....

Didn't see any mention of the Mirrors exclusive from the other day, they're seriously skint, all their players are available and they have ambitions only to replace them with non-league or loaned in players.

In fact if the Derby squads average age goes up any further, Victor Meldrew may get a game. lol
