Camp on a rant

only the other day Camp was going about the great unity in the squad...hmmm. Truth is the squad is too thin on the ground and maybe some of the first teamers are getting a little complacent, never mind the fringe players. Camp is one to talk too, he now has no competition for his jersey, so hope his performances don't drop. We really should have a proper back up keeper, with Smith now on his way.
 
Could be McGugan, or someone else.

Good to see the Vice-Captain speaking up though.
 
i'm not sure, McGugan had a good game the other night and had tyson had scored from his great pass then we would be singing in his praise.

Thornhill scored and never sopped running.

That leaves mcleary, lynch, chambers?

Can't get a look in at the moment despite us having only 4.5 senior players registered in the squad. (Mr Earnshaw being the .5)

Anderson's form last season was superb, with only Cohen challenging and surpassing him for our best outfield player. It was only the first leg of play-off's where the whole team played disappointingly that Billy Davies used him as an escape goat for the managers tactical ineptitude and the overall team lacklustre performance. Since then Billy Davies has strangely prefered Tyson on the wing, even though his recent form in the play-off second leg, pre-season and the Burnley match have been pretty average. The team lack the creativity, and the ability to put dangerous crosses into the box, so myself and other supporters are wondering why Anderson was only on the bench for our opening game. Hopefully this anomaly would be rectified tomorrow with the player starting.

Concerning the rumours I'd be surprised that Anderson is the player being suggested by Camp, he has no history of causing problems or being complacent in his attitude towards training. Although it's refreshing to see criticism aimed towards professional footballers, it is upto the gaffer to sort out these problems privately and not for the players to openly view their opinions. This type of generalised criticism can only damage morale and cuase players to question each other, which at this point in time is unwanted.

Beg to differ about ando. I used to be his biggest fan, thought he was awesome! Thought he got found out a few times last season; he can only beat someone who is slow and he can sprint past and I think his crossing lets him down most of the time. Don't think he was our 2nd best outfield player last season at all, the like of Raddy, Kenna, Wes all spring to mind.

That being said he definately deserves his chance in the team tomorrow ahead of tys. Unless we sign Whittingham before kickoff that is lol

Majewski was the most inconsistent, frustrating players of last season. He continually failed to get into matches as the player was reluctant to trackback or help out in the defence, rather leaving his central parter McKenna or Moussi to help out the defence. The player also failed to create sufficient clear cut opportunities from the centre, which was needed for a striker like Earnshaw who thrives from the through ball. Although to be fair he did create the occasional moment of sheer genius whereby scoring a brilliant solo goal.

Wes Morgan is another player that was found out by the opposition, especially by Blackpool in the play-offs. Any team with a pace attack ripped our defence asunder, with only Wilson and Camp being the difference between a near certainty of a goal. I'm surprised that many of the fans haven't realised that Wes Morgan has lost a fraction of his pace as a consequence of carrying additional upper body muscle. Yes his positioning and blocking is still impeccable, but the lack of pace has allowed players to exploit certain tactical weaknesses and create clear cut chances for the oppositions strikers.

Lastly we have McKenna the lynchpin and captain of the team. Undoubtably an excellent defensive midfielder, but failed to show the promise from earlier in the season. Maybe this was due to injuries, his age or Billy Davies continual persistence of changing the side due to the squad rotation, but after January his performances worsened. Yes he continued to track back to help out the stretched defence, but his creativity was solely lacking.

If you had said Wilson as one of the most underrated and improved player I would have totally agreed. Last season he had matured considerably, eradicating the problem of roving too forward at times, leaving a gaping whole to be exploited by the oppositions counter-attack. His (and of course Camp) last minute tackles and stops were probably the difference between Forest being overrun and letting in more goals.
 
Just an aside in response to DezzieD's post...

Funnily enough, Anderson won me over last season. His pace and willingness to run with the ball were a vital part of our counter-attacking threat. However, I would agree that his crossing is frequently poor, his skill isn't great and too often he falls over the ball or gives it away having carried it sixty yards up the pitch.

Now now stop being pedantic;). Although the term is scapegoat, the Latin to English translation of the bible from which the word derives, the term did use escapegoat as well. But yes it was a faux pas to which I will categorically and unreservedly apologize, and beg your eternal forgiveness. I am now going to pay my debt to society and sacrifice a goat to the goddess of Nike, so we may beat Leeds tomorrow.
 
Camp should just concentrate on his own game and prevent any goals from happening around his area. That first game against Burnley , Camp looked a bit shaky.
 
Could be any number of several players. But we don't know do we? Personally I feel it's best to not start blindly accusing people just at the moment and let the players do their talking on the pitch.
