Camp for Northern Ireland.

I think that this could be a slag move for Camp. If he just waits a year then if Forest can make it to the Prem he would surely have a chance of getting in the England squad. Be good to see him at international level for Northern Ireland but it would be fooking amazing to see him represent England while he is a Forest player.

Hasn't he played for England at U-21 level, and wouldn't that rule him out of playing for Northern Ireland?

(I really can't remember the rules; but thought you could only switch if you'd played at a junior level?)

I assume you thought this with the Mikel Arteta stuff a few weeks back. Heres what I can gather:

Arteta cannot play for England because he played for Spain at under 16's level. However if he played for them while he had British residency, he still would be able to play for England.

As for Camp because he's a UK resident he can play for whoever in the UK as long as himself, parents and/or grandparents were born in that country (Northern Ireland for example)

I think I'm right anyway....

Fair choice on his part, he's not ever going to be good enough to be England's number one anyway with the likes of Hart and Foster going to be around for years to come.

He'd walk into the Northern Ireland side however.

Can't blame him for opting for Northern Ireland, he's got such a broad Irish accent and all... lol

Good luck to him. Let's be honest, even if we went up which is a very big if, I don't think he would get into the England squad and certainly wouldn't be No. 1

I know it is a big 'if' but Camp is the best keeper in the Championship imo, and if we do get promo, and he carried his form into the Prem he would get into the squad no problemo.

If we went up he might of been able to make England no 3....Northern Ireland no 1 for years I see, good for them aswell because he's a brilliant keeper.

I'm not surprised after Capello called up Loach and Fielding..i would be like wtf myself

He didn't call them up. They were already with the under 21s and so just merged to save other players being removed from their club at late notice.

Good for Campy to be playing international football, though. Hope he does well.

Best option for Campy i feel. He isn't good enough for England in reality and would proberly get found out in the prem. Best thing for his Forest career aswell, as England can destroy your confidence. He will do well for Northen Ireland imo.

Ireland's Irelands Number One - Irelands - number One........................

Best of luck to him, he's got more chance of getting recognition playing for Northern Ireland than hanging around hoping for a miraculous callout to the England squad.

Whens his contract up with us? Iv got a feeling its this year, hope their sorting a shiney new one out for him soon.

2013. Signed a 4 year deal when he joined last year.

Are you sure? I have no idea if you're right or wrong but your'e saying if Rooney switched residency out of the UK, he wouldn't be eligible to play for England despite being born and breed here?

Irelands number 1, Irelands Irelands number 1!
