Red in the trent
First Team Squad
Either they've been found out or lost confidence (I think both), but Nuno's XI (obviously minus Elanga) doesn't seem as solid, disciplined, or as spirited, as last year.We were a better team then than we are today.

I'm wondering if it's both.Either they've been found out or lost confidence (I think both), but Nuno's XI (obviously minus Elanga) doesn't seem as solid, disciplined, or as spirited, as last year.
I think he needs to release a couple of shots, I’ve seen him skip inside a couple of times open up the room and then decide not to shoot. Don’t know if it’s under instruction or something else. His touch and quality on the ball hasn’t changed - although Timber got the better of him on Sunday.
Yes, he certainly needs to shoot more. He has unbelievable whip when he shoots.I think he needs to release a couple of shots, I’ve seen him skip inside a couple of times open up the room and then decide not to shoot. I'd like to see him play a more liberated role, moving across the front line, playing deeper, playing on the shoulder... mixing his game up a bit.Yes, he certainly needs to shoot more. He has unbelievable whip when he shoots.
I like to think if we are committing more bodies forward it is going to create more space for him. He's always got 2-3 players to beat everytime he has the ball.
Yeah I agreeI'd like to see him play a more liberated role, moving across the front line, playing deeper, playing on the shoulder... mixing his game up a bit.
There it is!!I think he needs to release a couple of shots, I’ve seen him skip inside a couple of times open up the room and then decide not to shoot. "A Barbecue" would be my guess? What would Cloughie have made of it if a player turned up to training like that.
He’d have said, “what have you come as”, the ultimate put down by your Dad in the 80’s or 90’s.What would Cloughie have made of it if a player turned up to training like that.
I remember some of the clobber Viv Anderson used to roll up in, in his Ford Capri. The stuff these kids like CHO wear now is fairly conservative when compared with some of the hideous fashions worn by a lot of people in the 1970s.
As someone who did occasionally wear very flappy jeans too late into the 70's whilst at school, I'm afraid to say nobody looked dapper in big flares. An abomination.I remember some of the clobber Viv Anderson used to roll up in, in his Ford Capri.
Massive flares were the order of the day, and he looked incredibly dapper.
Garry Birtles's bright suits and bow ties - you could hear them coming a mile off!I remember some of the clobber Viv Anderson used to roll up in, in his Ford Capri.

I tend to think the only man I’ve ever seen able to carry those massive flared jeans off was Richie Blackmore! As someone who did occasionally wear very flappy jeans too late into the 70's whilst at school, I'm afraid to say nobody looked dapper in big flares. An abomination.
I looked the bee’s knees in my loon pants, scoop neck tee shirt with amusing slogans (my favourite, much to my Mum’s horror, was a silhouette of 2 swans mating in mid-air, with the caption “Fly United”, topped off with a clover-leaf collared , fitted corduroy jacket. Of and maroon suede Cuban heeled boots. The stuff these kids like CHO wear now is fairly conservative when compared with some of the hideous fashions worn by a lot of people in the 1970s.
White boots?I wonder if it's now time to bin off the collar up look for CHO seeing as we're seemingly in a relegation battle and he's registered the grand total of 1 goal and 0 assists in 10 appearances this season.
It's akin to seeing someone turn up on a Sunday morning with white boots only to then shank it out of play with their first touch.
Classic Dad banter. He’d have said, “what have you come as”, the ultimate put down by your Dad in the 80’s or 90’s.
„Did you get dressed in the dark this morning?“ was my dad‘s frequent one.Classic Dad banter.
"Who dressed you, Stevie Wonder?" another classic of that genre
Saw Vince Hilaire at Palace a couple of years ago and he told us a Cloughie story. Said he'd just got a new suit and was buzzing to show his Palace teammates when Cloughie came around the corner and said "Young man, don't you own a mirror in your house?". Said he was totally deflated!„Did you get dressed in the dark this morning?“ was my dad‘s frequent one.
