Buying tickets

I tried to buy Reading tickets on the new online ticketing site, however as I'm 17 and this comes up when I enter my reference number, I got charged adult price. Last season on the old ticket site I was able to change the ticket I wanted to buy a junior ticket as I can get away with being a junior. I was just wondering if there was a way you could do this on the new ticket site or if there was any way an adult can buy a junior ticket, as being a student I can't really afford £20 plus travel, food etc.

Also, you cant even do it when the game reaches general sale. What if an adult wanted to buy a ticket for his son. Surely he wouldnt have to pay for an adult ticket?

I know I shouldnt buy a junior ticket anyway but at least I'm being honest, and it's only Reading were ripping off! ;D

I imagine the new online arrangement is designed to not allow you to buy junior tickets when it knows how old you are from your client ref details.

Only way I can imagine you could do it would be to buy an adult ticket for a mate AND a junior for yourself.

Yeah thats what I thought. But the whole point of having a period where season ticket holders can buy a ticket for home games is so they can buy them for others. This new system means you cannot buy a ticket for a junior or any age other than what the season ticket holder is.

I spent five minutes on the new ticket service yesterday and decided it's every bit as shite as the one before it.

I brought my stoke tickets fine from it, took me all of 2 minutes.

I think the new way is great brought me tickets yesterday, nice to pick the seats you want but just hope they arrive in the morning.

When I brought my stoke tickets, I wasn't sure if they'd arrive on time so I selected to pick them up and saved a quid :)

The main reason I didn't use the online system in the past was that I preferred to see which seats were available then choose which one I wanted, which you had to go into the ticket office to do.

The new system allows you to do that online, so I'd say it's a vast improvement.

Having said that I've bought a season ticket this year (for the first time in about 15 years!) so it's not of so much concern to me.

I think the new system is great! So many times I've bought an away ticket and been on the first few rows whereas the noise normally comes from the back! I've got my reading ticket and was able to pick the 3rd from last row, centre of the goal so I'm well chuffed!
