I don't think I'm to worried about the 3 that are coming down to the championship next season, I don't see any of them bouncing straight back up so that should leave the two automatic spots up for grabs.
 
Not as tough as WBA and Newcastle but a challenge will always come from somewhere. Could be Leicester, Middlesboro, Leeds or Ipswich.

When we finished 19th no one would have backed us for a challenge. I think Hull might do alright too.
 
There's always at least one side that does much better than expected - Blackpool and ourselves being the obvious examples from the season just gone.

It won't be easy...and we'll have a new weight of expectation on our shoulders next season too.
 
I recon Burnley will take a top spot! They are a decent side, not quite the same with Laws in charge but they wont have to sell players. Pompey and Hull will both have to reduce there wage bill and will at a push get a play off spot! Boro, Leicester and Leeds will be the teams to watch out for!
If we get 3 quality signings in, il be happy and confident of a top 2 spot!
 
I can't see any team running away with it next season and I feel if we get the 3 or 4 quality signings we should have no problem keeping in the top 6. I would have to agree with Burnley being the team to watch out of the three but with Laws in charge I wouldn't fear them to much. I think he will be gone by Christmas.

Fester and boro will do ok but I do feel that we have one of the best opportunities to take one of the top two spots.
 
Yeah I forgot about Norwich. My mates are Leeds and Huddersfield town fans said they were a class above them when they both saw them play.
 
I suspect the biggest play off hangover will be felt by Leicester and they may struggle for mid table. Should we still have wee Billy in charge I expect us to finish in the top 2 along with Norwich... To be relegated, I can see Portsmouth, Barnsley and Palace..
 
I would expect teams that underachieved this season like Reading, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and possibly Ipswich to have better seasons next time around.

I don't think Norwich will do as well as people are predicting, Grant Holt will not be nearly as effective at this level and I think he will struggle to make double figures. I would expect them to finish im midtable. Leeds will struggle like we did when we came up as well.
 
Boro will come good next season. Decent enough side with a great manager in Gordon Strachan having his first full season in charge. Expect them to do a similar thing to what we did this season. I also expect Ipswich and Reading to have much better seasons than they did, both of whom should take a playoff spot this year.

Don't be fooled about the teams coming down, whilst Portsmouth are the only ones to have their finances in the public eye, both Burnley and Hull are also in deep trouble. They won't be able to foot a bill for new players like ourselves, Ipswich, Sheff Utd all can.

Always a bad idea to start predicting before the summer transfer window has been completed, but I'd go with this:

1) Middlesborough
2) Forest
3) Cardiff (If they don't go up)
4) Reading
5) Bristol City
6) Ipswich
7) Sheff Utd
8) Swansea
9) Norwich
10) Leicester

With Hull and Burnley finishing around 15th, Portsmouth somewhere about 20th.

I thought Burnley were very solid financially? They have never spent big so how can they be in debt?
 
They've never spent big because they can't. That's why Owen Coyle jumped ship to Bolton which at the time looked to be a very sideways move.

I said last close season that Preston had to sell us McKenna as they were in difficulties. 12 months on and it hits the news. They've never spent much either.
 
I expect Bristol City to mount a charge next season. They've got a great manager in Coppell and I think I'm right in saying that they have a reasonably amount of money to spend.
 
QPR might get their act together with that twat in charge and they've some cash too. Burnley are in decent shape financially (or so their chairman claims). Boro are the final team I'm worried about......
 
id expect to see ipswich and sheff utd in more commanding roles, but as for middlesbrough they spent big on wages this year to try ang get back up, and now have to make huge cuts to save them from financial ruin, i think they're on the way back to where they belong.

As for cardiff doing well if they don't go up? have you been living underwater for the last year, if they don't go up they're finished.

Not too fussed about norwich and leeds, may have a mid-table season if they're lucky.

I'm led to believe that Cardiff have backing for next season regardless of what league they play in.
Furthermore, their debt is managable and can be staved off by selling just one of Chopra, Whittingham, Ledley etc.
Boro are fine too.

Like I said, Burnley or Hull are the ones to look out for financial wise. Expect some big news stories to emerge related to those two in the coming year.
 
Burnley will go straight back up. They're the better equipt for our division than the other two.

Hull and Pompy will have to sell their arses off in the summer to pay their debts.
 
It's difficult to judge the relegated teams. I distinctly remember similar threads last season where people (probably me included) who thought that Newcastle would drop straight through to Lge One.. Many also expected Middlesbrough to finish top.
