21-year-old attacking midfielder, playing for Famalicão (where he's the captain despite his age), widely considered one of the most promising young Portugueuse players (over 40 appearances in youth national teams). He was supposed to sign for West Ham earlier this summer, but apparently the deal fell through. Last night, there were strong rumours that we are close to him, but I seriously doubt that we are in a position to buy a player with a 25m price tag on him in Transfermarkt. So, if there is any thruth to those rumours, my guess is that the buyer is actually you (with the player then loaned to us), although Forest has not been mentioned so far.
 
Mentioned him a couple of months ago in the transfer thread as a potential option, but that was based on the assumption we'd be moving on McAtee.

But I guess if we're playing with a double #10...

I did enjoy the last part of the translation but yes, this rarely works out so if it goes to form, we'll sell him to Oly in a couple seasons for this value minus previously paid loan fees.

To be fair, you haven't sent any players to develop here. All the Forest to Olympiacos loans so far belong to the following two categories:

a) players we wanted and could not afford them or did not want to buy them ourselves (Carmo, Stamenić, Ui-Jo Hwang);
b) players who didn't really make it at Forest and you wanted to offload them (Richards, Scarpa, Bowler, Carvalho, Tiago Silva, Jota Silva).

It's true that none of these loans worked (for either club), but Sá inaugurates a new category, exciting talents who actually have a chance for playing at Forest at some point in the future. People who have seen him play insist he is (potential) Premier material (hence West Ham's interest earlier this summer).

This is exactly how the multi-club model should work. Gives the group the ability to sign young excitingtalent earlier in their development so we can get them cheaper, making sure they can still get game time in a less physical and competitive environment. We can judge their ceiling better, whilst benefiting other area's of the group.

Ideally we start producing some brilliant players out of the academy who can also benefit in the same way.
 
I suspect Sa would be for us, not Oly.

We're likely to play a 3-4-2-1 under Glasner. Beyond MGW there's a real lack of dynamism in our attacking-but-not-a-striker options, and most of them prefer to play wide anyway.
 
Really cannot see us spending £20m on a player to loan out - with 5 subs in the EPL if we are spending that type of money I think he will be for us not Oly. It is now a real squad game in the EPL. If he comes and plays 20 minutes here and there this season for us and cup games that will be far more beneficial than a loan to Greece to get him EPL ready.

No, the loan is a done deal, he's expected in Athens by tomorrow at the latest.

It’s not much different to buying a Tyler Bindon and loaning him to a championship team for development but this way he benefits a club under the Marinakis stable. Pretty risk free if he has genuine talent.
