Brian Laws commentary

Gosh old Brian is hard work. Stumbles over his words, spends ages repeating what Colin has just said constantly saying "you know" ,"er", "point of view" . with no insight whatsoever. overstates the obvious . I miss Steve Sutton.

Yes, I’m afraid he’s pretty lame

He’s ok-but he pronounces Wood as Woods!!! He is better than Perch but not a patch on Hodge-who is king, who clearly know his football and tactics.

Can't remember which game it was, but earlier in the season during the pre-match chat, Lawsy came out with, "Frustration is the key to frustrating the opposition."

I'm not sure who it was, but the woman commentating for TNT said during the game:

"You see, all Mcatee needs to do, is to consistently play well"

And she's not wrong.

Yeah I turned to my son and laughed at that too.

Just another roll of the Dyche
He also says Forests's instead of Forest's, one of the many things about him that drive me barmy :bristolfan:
Is that a north-eastern thing? Like Hartlepools?

We're biased, but think the consensus is Steve Hodge is better than most pundits/co-comms in the national media. Always seek out his view after matches as it's genuinely insightful.

Brian Laws is kind of like a favourite uncle. One of my heroes from my favourite team so definitely some nostalgia involved in my view. He loses it for goals like Hodge does. In a sport where players sign for the highest bidder and loyalty is no longer expected, I love hearing the players who got me into Forest in the first place can still get that excited by a goal we've scored thirty years after they retired. It was a little sad when Sutton called it a day and teared up on the radio. And I'll be sad when these two stop doing it.

Also, think David Jackson is around the same age as me. And you can tell he's living his dream working with his childhood heroes following Forest in the PL and now around Europe. I do enjoy listening to his pre/post game chats with Laws and Hodge in particular.

We’re spoilt with all the guys on radio Nottingham.
The mainstream commentators and pundits on national radio are an embarrassment, especially talkSPORT.
I sometimes listen when I’m at work on nights, Sam Matterface makes you want to rip your own ears off. Dreadful.

She bloody well is wrong!
Splitting an infinity like that.
These journalists have the English language as their primary tool of work.
They should at least know how to use it.
