All that was ever missing off the outstanding Brian Clough statue was...

...a green jumper.

Those of you who missed it today, and those of you who don't live in the City might enjoy...these...! :)

THe excuse is Nottingham Light Night - an evening where assorted parts of the City are lit up rather nicely.

Erm Flagman, is there a point to your thirty photos of the staue clad in a green top? Would one picture have done? Do you want the thirty pictures of me in my wife's bra or my wife wearing just my vest?

You may choose whichever background building colour goes with your curtains. :)

I'd dress him in stockings and suspenders. With a ferret down each leg. He'd have loved the joke.

I think it look horrible. Reminds me of the episode of Only Fools where Del paints his Mum's grave in luminous paint.

My bro texted me with excitement to say Cloughie resembled The Hitcher from The Mighty Boosh lol

I like it looks ace.

Quite decadent to have a light night in these environmentally difficult and credit-crunch-tastic times, though :p

You need to check your spellings on this one.

You also need to consider your own contributions to things and how valid they are.

I do not consider your contributions to this forum to have taken things forward and blessed those that read them. Therefore, you need to please explain to us how you have uplifted us in any ways before criticising others.

I resent your criticisms and would value finding a forum to discuss the points you have made.

my opinion.

you seem to talk a lot of nonsense.

Apparently you think you are some kind of comedian, every other thread has you making some inane comment.

YOU ARE BORING.

Isn't it about time that Peter Taylor's contribution was commemorated in some way. Cloughie may have been the motivator but Taylor discovered the players in the first place. I know he was only with Forest until 1982, he wasn't there when Clough constructed his second great side - Laws, Pearce, Hodge, Webb, Clough etc,but he was there when the two of them took Forest from the second division to twice champions of Europe. Clough's work at Forest only really began to take off once Taylor arrived.

Taylor said at the time that Clough had never asked for a second bottle of whisky to be given to Taylor when he picked up the Manager of the month award, but Clough clearly stated that there were two of them running the club. When they fell out, after Taylor took Robertson to Derby, Clough hated Taylor for a while, but I think he regretted the acrimony after Taylor died.

Will we wait until Derby raise a statue to him before we remember he was a part of the team? If I was his daughter, I'd feel that he was something of a forgotten man.

Derby is a proper footballing club, i'm sure they are planning a statue on every street corner, just like the ones of Clough :nowink:

If Billy Davies is our manager for 20 years and wins the champions league twice, Derby will have statues to him after he's gone.

The top half looks great, but sadly it also looks like he's naked from the waist down.
