Brennan Johnson

Seeing a report in the Guardian that Bournemouth are after him as a Semenyo replacement.

I think we should try for a loan. Spurs still appreciate Brennan but he's behind in the pecking order. A loan may suit all parties. Hutchinson and Brennan (one playing on the left) could be interesting, and BJ offers striker cover that we need due to the Wood situation.

In a sense that they both wingers and both play for their countries. That's about where the comparison ends unfortunately.
Brennan Johnson: 2 goals in 16 appearances in the PL.
Dan Ndoye: 1 goal, 1 assist in 15 appearances in the PL.

Seems quite similar to me.

We are only judging them on appearances this season under new managers right?

I'm judging them on the eye test.

Same price as Ndoye...

Make that make sense.
He's fast but his decision making, technical ability and end product aren't top level.

Spurs spent 50m on him but were buying a what, 21/22 year old kid with a lot of potential, he's a few years older so that level has probably topped out a bit now, and so maybe the basic fee would go down with more performance based add ons.

Is he really much better than the player we sold?

I'd imagine Johnson's wages will be a lot higher than Ndoye's, which is something to bare in mind. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being Palace's highest paid player if he goes there.

Brennan has had 6 starts, Ndoye has had 14.

So if we want to be precise, he has twice as many goals in less than half the starts.
At this point in BJ's first season at this level he had 2 G/A in 18 starts.

People are only remembering the good with BJ and judging him on that whilst judging Ndoye on solely the bad.

I really do not get this - there is no space for him in the squad, we can't afford him & I don't think he suits our style anymore at all. If he didn't used to play for us it wouldn't even get mentioned.
