That's poor. Their biggest game for 30 odd years and they still haven't been able to sell out the day before the game.
Their home tickets only went on general sale today.

Ignoring the cheap "I'm over 4 years old" gags, isn't something like this a fairer way than "£20 for a membership to jump the queue" ?
If I bought a season ticket this season for the first time and have been to every away game as well, do I have less right to buy a ticket than you because you've had your season ticket for ten years?
You seem to be arguing that years of dedicated support is less of a measure of "right" than the size of your wallet.
In the interests of fairness, that argument can work either way though. Some people may not have been able to afford a season ticket for four years or more, even though they may have desperately wanted to be able to.
