Bird Feeding!

Buckaroo

axe to grind
I’d just finished watering the garden and was about to tidy the hose away when this chap swooped in.

Can’t see it from this angle, but it had caught something and flew off with it in its claws.

I’m thinking a sparrowhawk, but I’m sure you chaps will correct me if I’m wrong?
Spot on! Female Sparrowhawk. They're pretty active this time of year with plenty of fledglings around to prey on and young of their own to feed.

I walked to Tesco the other night and heard squawking. Looks up and it's an African grey parrot. After a few enquiries I asked the locals if it was the same one that sits on the head of the woman with the mobility scooter. They told me it was and she often let's it out for a fly around and a bit of exercise.

Breakfast coffee triple treat this morning, pair of Buzzards a Booted Eagle and best of all a Golden Eagle all straight above the house, couldn't risk going inside for camera so you'll have to take my word for it
