Billy's view....

I hate to start to think this way, but I think this is Billy Davies covering his own backside. If anything fails, it is not my fault. Billy Davies is part of the TAP and as such cannot seperate himself from thier progress/lack of in any signings made or attempted.

The article seems to say, or BD say's he has given them his targets and then stands back, waiting for them to arrive. This really is a naughty slant on things by Davies. He has a proven track record of throwing his toys out of the pram..........I do hope we are not seeing the start of this.

agree to an extent, but like he says he's only there to provide the list of names (i.e: that's his role as part of the panel), and then as far as I can see, it's out of his hands and left to the rest of them to get on with it. Whether they provide him with updates I don't know...

In the entire footballing world? Ok, I'll restrict myself by keeping this close to home:-

Peterborough United - have signed pacey full-back Mark Little and highly rated winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing both from Wolves.
They've further strengthened their back 4 with Former England Under 17, Under 19 and Under 20 international Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi from Chelsea and Kelvin Langmead from Shrewsbury.
In midfield they've added Grant McCann who has been excellent for some time for S****horpe and Australian James Wesolovski who was tipped for great things at Reading and Leicester, but lost his way due to injuries.
Up front, they've complemented their small pacey strikers with target man Dave Hibbert.
On top of that, they somehow convinced George Boyd to sign a new three-year deal.
In fact, they've got a massively better squad now, than when they were preparing for Championship football...

...all in all, way more positive than anything so far coming out of the CG...
 
You can get 10/3 with Victor Chandler for Billy not being on manager, come May 8th, looks a decent bet to me.

Mmmn.

Not strictly true. Davies plays a very active part in contacting the player and selling the club to him, discussing what they both want and the way he sees the club going forward. Very active - to the point of phoning said player at odd times to talk more. The panel decides the fee and negotiates wages. Well, I say panel, David Pleat sets the fee. Even then, Davies will quite vociferously argue to sign a certain player and get the panel to overrule Pleat if Davies can mount a strong enough case. This is what was happening last summer and there is little or no reason to expect that to have changed.

It`s no wonder Shorey and Pratley won`t come if Billy`s phoning them at 3am.
