Give Billy the benefit of the doubt.

When we're winning, I really don't give a hoot how he does it.

We will go down with fans being nobs and critising the gaffer after we have beaten Reading away.

For f*** sake mate, your entitled to your opinion but get behind the team.

BD hit the nail on the head in his post match interview saying our away fans are brilliant and the home fans get on the teams back.

As a Forest fan, I was not over bothered when he was unveiled as the new manager. I am determined to give him time to settle down before forming an opinion of the man. I did have a wry smile to myself before the Derby game, BD had gone on all week about the need to play youngsters and the injury crisis.........Knowing full well that both Anderson and Earnshaw would be almost ready for a return to the side.

That seems to have been forgotten ( Apologies if someone else raised the issue ) devalued by both the performance and result, but it was a canny attempt to disguise his team selection options.

He as, I believe as Winnits pointed out in another thread here for the long term, far too much money involved for Forest to terminate a 3.5 year contract so early, as far too much at stake for BD to walk away.

But time for us to get to understand each other, time for BD to build his own team.

Personally I have yet to see, been subject to a nasty rumour, heard or listened to him, nothing that causes alarm and much of what bodes well for the future

As I've always said (and I'll say it again cause I'd like to!)

The moment I judge BD's influence on our team, is when the very final whistle goes on the last day of this season.

In my opinion, it's a no brainer to get behind him. Even if he's doing the worst job in the world, it's too late on in the season to vent negativity on the team. Hell, it's not even his team right now.

Are they two different sets of people then?

Is it not possible to criticise the manager AND get behind the team?

Problem is, some people reckon he's had a chance to make a few changes. However, we haven't helped ourselves with some of the comments coming out of the club ("We wont be held to ransom" and "The players that are available are not the ones we want") which give some people the opinion that it's simply spin and bullshit

On a personal note, I wasn't convinced that we were going sign anyone in the transfer window and or the loan window anyway, so not that pissed off we haven't

Which is exactly what it is.

I knew in August that we wouldn't sign anyone in January but I'm still pissed off about it.

They are the same though.

Unless most forest fans suffer with multiple personalities that is.

He hasn't, because he trusted Mark Arthur to sort out what he wanted.

Give us the opinion? Once - no, twice - maybe, three times - probably, four times - almost certainly, every year? every press release - doesn't give us the opinion, rather more it establishes a known trend.

On a personal note I was not at all suprised, although I had hoped that we had learnt from the mistakes of previous seasons - I'm still awfully hacked off at the gamble that has been taken with the clubs future though.

You also expected the hoofball from Davies , which wasnt the case, 2nd half by all accounts Forest outplayed and out footballed Reading. You just don't like it that you might be wrong about BD.

The Hoofball is another urban legend from the Anti-Davies Hysterical Division (ADHD) conceived in small rooms with low lighting, where they make little effigies of BD and burn them, to the soundtrack of their own hysterical tears.

We didn't play the long ball game today - kind of pointless with a 5'7'' striker against two 6' plus centre backs!

We played football on the ground, passing it about. Yes, the team had a very stern test against Reading for the first half-hour, but they came through it. And of course we've now taken four points of them this season.

At the risk of tempting fate, this might just be the performance (and result) that could kick-start the rest of the season, and God knows with other results around us, we needed to win today!

We didn't play the long-ball today because our midfield actually turned up and were effective!

Amazing isn't it? ;D
