Nottingham Forest's Billy Davies unsure over transfers
Davies' Forest are unbeaten in 13 league matches
Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has said he does not know if the club will bring in new players in the January transfer window.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I don't know if there's any money available.
"I don't know what the situation is with funds... there's no budget at Forest and we'll just have to wait and see what becomes available."
"I've recommended a number of players to the board. Now we'll see what develops over the next few weeks."
Davies added: "As far as I'm concerned time will tell."
Forest face Preston at home in the league on Saturday and lie three points off an automatic promotion place with an unbeaten league run of 13 games.
Well, it confirms there's no budget. Just signings on a player by player basis ! It seems he has his targets nice and early anyway. I'm hoping that the board don't think we are doing so well we don't need any new blood ! The loan of Shorey state the club know we need a left-back, and I'm praying, even if we only sign one, that this is the target area. Here's hoping Shorey is the one he's earmarked !
Another thought struck me. Should we lose McKenna for any period who would cover ? Moussi is the ideal bet, and I for one wouldn't be surprised if he is being shaped into a McKenna type player, but following injuries I'm still unsure he is quite ready for that responsibility ! Apart from that I really don't think there is anyone at the club who could perform that midfield general role. Fingers crossed this is another area we are looking at. Maybe a young lad McKenna could tutor and bring on to his standard !
With, arguably the most important, role lacking this cover is there anyone you would like to see brought in ?
