if he goes the I wish him all the best as he leaves us in a better position than he inherited, dont think we would have to much trouble attracting a new manager because of the squad we have, not sure who though.

Holloway did a marvellous job with Leicester thus I wouldn't want him anywhere near Forest.

I think at Blackpool he inherited a group who were already very 'together', who were uncertain but prepared to listen, and not a bunch of overpaid egos. He's admitted he's also changed his style somewhat since Leicester days.

After the game Billy should have talked about making progess with the club rather than about how he will evaluate whats best for him, etc. Listening to that for the first time made me think that if he were to walk away it wouldn't be the end of the world - we are in a better position now than 12 months ago, the squad is far better and the chairmen wants to get us up sooner rather than later.

But saying that we've just signed Raddy which he has been demanding for ages, so why leave now? Maybe some more of his requests are to be forfilled in the coming weeks aswell.

Celtic are closing in on the capture of free agent midfielder Steven Reid after reportedly holding contract talks.
Reid, who finished the season on loan with West Brom, is available for free when his contract Blackburn expires this summer.
The Baggies were thought to be the front-runners for Reid's signature, but he has now met with Celtic's officials to agree a deal.
Reid was at the club's Lennoxtown HQ on Monday and it is believed talks over an estimated ÂŁ20,000-a-week deal were close to being agreed.
Although Neil Lennon is only Celtic's caretaker manager he is of the firm belief that the 29-year-old will prove a successful signing.
Reid began his career at Millwall before joining Blackburn in 2003. He has won 22 caps for Republic of Ireland.

If Lennon is signing players up there, then its a sign there's some trust in him there. Would they be signing players before Billy took over? Surely not, he'd want his own players.

I'm reading that as good news.

To be honest I’m not bothered while our home form was formidable our away for was diabolical and it is this area for which I blame Billy Davies, rightly or wrong in some peoples eyes I think he got the formation the personal and the tactics completely wrong away from home which in turn probably cost dear in the fight for promotion. How did we go from being unbeaten up until January to then a complete turn around from that point onwards, baffling, I think his complete stubbornness and an almost unattainable denial to except the blame in any shape or form left me feeling he had little or no respect for what the fans wanted, it’s as if he did it on purpose to prove to the board for their failing in the transfer window. I for one won’t be sad to see him leave, but equally wouldn’t be bothered if he stayed, what ever he decides I wish him well.

I have to agree with you there, hard to believe one player (shorey) had that much effect on our away form but not home?

Something along the lines of keep the fans happy by winning at home, but lets let the away form slip?

Hard to imagine I know, it just makes me wonder sometimes...

I don't think that it was just Shorey that was the only difference, but he did make one. He was the last piece in a jigsaw that made the side more solid and stable. It was the right kind of player playing in the right position. Remove that factor and the team becomes a little shakier and the stand-in keeps getting beaten over and over it gives the home crowd a lift and the crowd can buoy on the home side. I think it's a factor of both of them together.

The only problem with Billy leaving is....who comes in.
If they come from a lower level, their targets will be lower level.

The great thing about someone with Bill's experiance is its from this level for a while coupled with a knowledge gained from a taste of the higher.

Maybe a manager that has operated at a higher level for some time will come in with unrealistic goals, so it's a hard act to follow.
