Billy Sharp

Don't think we will sign him permanently, doesn't seem too interested about staying (in a polite thanks but no thanks kind of way). Is giving his all but something tells me if it was going to happen this month it would have by now.

If we're promoted this season (which is unlikely) I think he would stay, otherwise he'll be back off to Southampton.

We don't need to sign him permanently this month though. He's here till May anyway.

He's got his career to think about. I don't think he'll go back to Southampton but he may get an offer from a low end Prem side or a team promoted this season.

Still a possibility, but no rush.

If I was Billy I'd wait until the summer before deciding whether to stay or not. I imagine he will do the same.

I don't see him as a McLeish type player to be honest. I like that so far McLeish appears to be trying something different from what he's always been, but lepoards don't change their spots and when times become hard, they revert to what they know.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Billy go back to Southampton in the summer to be replaced by a 6'3 beast.

This is my fear too. By telling camp he can leave now, weve now given ourselves another problem of having to sign another good experienced keeper in this window, which is notoriously difficult. This is at a time when we should be prioritising Billy's permanent signing, and a winger, plus the 2 defenders we already got.

If we leave it til the summer he'll have a whole host of other clubs in for him, And we may lose out

No wonder my post count..
If he had any sense he'd run away in the opposite direction.

Yeah I imagine Bill's loyalty lies solely with Marthur, Burt and Clark and not the manager and the people paying his wages. Could be something in this :p

Or he can see what a shit shower is going down. I wouldnt sign for a club based on whats happened in the last month, especially when you are bound to have lots of offers from stable clubs.

Why what's happened that you think the players on loan will be so up in arms about?

Can Southampton recall him? Just thinking new managers like to look at all their squad when they take over.

The mess at Southampton might help us in our in quest to land Billy. Their new boss isn't gonna care about him. He'll be signing La Liga players
