No wonder my post count..
From the BBC column - Doncaster say they cannot afford to sign on-loan striker Billy Sharp, 24, in the summer because his club Sheffield United want £1.5m for him. (Daily Star)

Think oor Billy could make a sly bid for him? I know he's a striker and blah blah blah, but he's still young and should the premiership ever happen, he'd be fantastic back up.

I've always liked him.

He's looking on course to be the leagues top goalscorer despite the fact that he missed a big chunk of the season on the bench at the Blunts.

When you look at the price of others on that list like Chopra. £1.5m is a bargin. We need defenders 1st though.

Not Garner, Earnie or Blackstock. Tyson is useful because his speed brings something different. I'd swap him for Mcgoldrick.

Did anyone see the Doncaster Rovers Sharpshooter fund. They tried to raise the transfer fee themselves and ended up with £3000 to try and buy him. lol
 
Lol at the Sharpshooter fund. Billy sharp would be a more valuable asset than all of our strikers bar dex an earnie. He's a proper striker

McGoldrick would probably be a good swap, yeah.
 
Sharp is a poacher. IMO, he wouldn't fit with our current style of play. Maybe if we had wingers who could beat their man & put crosses into the box from the bye-line....
 
I wouldn't swap him for earnshaw or blackstock but maybe would do swap with sheff utd for rest. maybe mcgoldrick or adebole for him.

McClearly does actually do that, Anderson tends to run into somebody and lose the ball a bit too much. Not sure about Boyd ...
 
Sharp would be a brilliant signing and is easily better than McGoldrick, Adebola, Garner or Tyson and probably on a par at least with Blackstock and Earnie.

If he is available for that sum we should definitely go in for him.
 
Hope cardiff beat sheff utd tomorrow,that way we may stand better chance of signing him if billy wants to add to strikers cos sheff utd then may not make play-offs.
 
Sharp for McGoldrick Il drive him up there to see the back of him, still fail to see what this lad brings to the team and how he gets the Nod in front of others IMO he is our 6th striker. I feel Billy is playing him to justify his price tag. Still I'm open minded he can change my opinion

McGoldrick isn't an out and out striker. These comparisons with him and Sharp are completely moronic..
 
Doncaster have tabled a bid for him, which was rejected.

I hope hope hope we can swoop in!
