Billy Raddy Bombshell

goatboy

Grenville Morris
Davies is as I type saying that Raddy's head has gone over the transfer, he wants to stay and Billy wants him to stay. But Billy has no details of negotiations, he's dropped the player because the ongoing business is doing his nut. Now criticising having to try to persuade Cohen to play left back and saying he might have to. He sounds proper annoyed.

Robin now telling him he doesn't seem himself. Billy says he'll keep doing his best.

If the transfers don't come in, if the panel don't listen: ".... I'll just keep doing my job until someone taps me on the shoulder and says it's time for a change."

On loans... Mentions Joel Lynch as potential left back if no loans. Wants round pegs in round holes. Having to patch up at the moment and it is affecting the type of play we can produce.

Many will say he's being an agitator as he was elsewhere but I agree with his assessment. I also don't doubt that he was hired in spite of this and Doughty/Marthur won't be surprised nor disappointed by his words. It's an interview that'll please any fan that want to listen.

I have said it before and I'll say it again the Panel does not work, we'll lose Majewski at this rate.

Im at least pleased that Raddy is desperate to stay, because I did wonder before the game, whether we had had a bid accepted only to find Raddy wanted too much money or didn't want to stay or something.

Im confident we'l get our man eventually.

Maybe Billy thought that by making it public it would give a not-so-subtle prod to those involved and might spur them to get the business done sooner rather than later. Hope so anyway.

It actually plays well to fans and media.

Billy, fans hero, saying all the right things.

Marthur and Pleat, the bad guys, the villans.

They probably write the script the day before :)

Wasn't sure about Tommy Spurr myself, but we could use cover for left back I suppose.

As for Raddy, he's a crazy, talented young lad and I'm glad he's able to have his head go over this, it bodes well for his future at the club even if that future is mired in negotiation. If Billy, the player and the fans and probably his team mates want him to stay, I'd be surprised if he didn't.

Interesting comment on the voicemails just now... "Nobody can live with us when we attack 'em". It's true, that.

Must say that it is refreshing to have a manager that will mention stuff like this in his interviews. Makes a change from the usual "carrying a slight knock" or "needs a rest" rubbish that just ends up fueling speculation.

Works well.

Mr Arthur plays the role to perfection! :D

Certainly Billy picked his words and expressions for his audience.

This is purely a stand off between Billy and the board, I agree with Billy the Panel are atrocious and this will result in either Billy losing his job or the board doing what BD wants and ultimately something will have to give. I don't think BD will walk now but he could at the end of the season if this is going to continue to get him down.

There was a strange atmosphere around that interview.

I think it was Billy saying he has done his bit and now it's in the hands of others and he doesn't seem to like that control being taken away.

Raddy didn't play because it sounds as if he wanted to have everything sorted by January but it wasn't, and I think he is feeling unwanted and Billy is trying to tell him that he is wanted and to get his head in the right place.

I don't want to read too much into it though . . . .

If the machinations of the panel are getting to the team and opening holes in the formation due to lack of coverage, we deserve to know and that's what Billy's told us.

I didn't really get the 1st comment. Cohen's pissed about playing LB, Raddy pissed with Forest ? I feel for them. A promotion chasing side having to play players out of position ? It's no coincidence that The side played some of the most amazing footy with Shorey.

I imagine Billy also named a possible back-up left back to buy or 2, yet the panel threw all its eggs in one basket. You can't blame him one bit. he is trying to build a great side, and he has proven he has an eye for just the players he needs to do that.

Billy is in a very strong position at the moment and (as I would) is using it to his favour.

Excellent post, agree 100% well said.

Sounds like BD has started making excuses already? This post is not meant as a wind up at all, but reading this is exactly the sort of thing he used to come out with at Derby towards the end of his reign ( not saying he is nearing the end with you). There is always an element of blame subtletyy directed at someone else, and if he walks in the summer he'll be able to look back and tell you why, where and when.

Yeah but this time he has a very good point. If he left I think the majority would be blaming the board and not BD well I would, but then I do speak for myself in that respect.

he is right to point the blame where it is due though. If of course that is the case, no one really know 100% what is going on behind the scenes
