Was mills that big a loss? I can't recall last season his name being flung about much...not really that aware of him before this transfer saga and he obviously didn't want to come to the CG so sod him & we move on.
What the hell is david "potatoe" pleat doing at present? isn't he supposed to identify potential targets?.
We needed a bloody good CB and LB as a priority way before all the strikers and midfielders we've bought.

But surely he has more than 1 or 2 names on his target list??? and between barker/mills these are 2 that I would rate as good ccc defenders of which there are many, so surely the potential targets are grand?.
Jones choosing scunny was a major shock to me...watched him a couple of times on sultana and read up on him and he seemed a decent target and we were sniffing around him last year yet this year nowt and he chooses scunthorpe??? (Ian Botham played for them for ****s sake!!!) ;D

It does seem to me as though Billy is stuck between a rock and a hard place here. On the one hand, seemingly every Forest Fan on the planet is screaming that our defence is not good enough and that we NEED TO SIGN DEFENDERS NOW!!!.

However on the other hand, if Billy thinks the players that are available to him aren't any better than what we've already got, then why sign anyone?

He has stated many a time that our defense will be our undoing this year and we need quality there...Now my argument is surely other than barker/mills he must have a list of potential targets...I for one don't believe those 2 are the best & only available CB's outthere?.
Now im very happy with what Bill & the club have done this summer i just don't want to see it become undone by our shoddy defense (the basis of any good team is defense)

You probably willl never know what Pleat is doing behind the scenes. So to ask '' what the hell '' he is doing in your suggested tone is probably a bit unfair. How do you know if he didn't help identify 2 or 3 of our signings or maybe 5 or 6 ? Some of the players bought in on loan last season could have been his idea too.

I get the feeling Majewski is a Pleat player but have nothing to base it on really.

Just seems with his TV duties he may have seen him play, heard about him being unsettled and made manager/board aware.

Majewski does feel like a Pleat player. Its difficult to judge what Pleat does but with his ITV european work, he has a excellent opportunity to look for these players and establish links out there.

If Majewski turns out to be a Pleat player and maybe one of our best 3 players this season, then surely Pleat is surely doing his job ?

He was working for them when Calderwood was here already.

He's still be working here since then,he was the one who was negotiating a loan deal for McSheffery.

We're being linked to Shittu quite a bit from Bolton. I wouldn't go even near the 2m they want for him though. Age aint in his favour now.750k closer the mark, and his wages might be a prob.

Be quite interesting to see him and Wes on the field together. I always thought he and Wes were one and the same, with Shittu being Wes' Prem alter-ego.

Shittu at this level is very good and what we needed. Strong & powerful in the air , a real dominant center back at the back. He's at his peak at 28 , i wouldn't mind paying 2 million for him if he can get us to where we want forest to be - a top half club.
However , i have the feeling that he'll likely stay in the premiership.
