King Billy was on the show tonight, says he is very confident that the quality players will be signed by the AP either this window or the next. Also said he won't be too disgruntled if the signing's are not made until the next window. Thoughts?

I take that as Billy saying that we are signing nobody this transfer window but is confident we can get Pratley and Whittingham to sign in Jan (on pre-contracts for free).

Otherwise why wouldn't he just say "is very confident that quality players will be signed by the AP this window"

If we were getting them this window he wouldn't have needed to mention the 'next window'

Being confident of signing "quality players" during this window would be fine - However it does not make sense to say "or the next" because to attract quality players in the next window would require us to be in serious contention for an Auto Place....which would be unlikely unless we reinforce now. Catch 22.
If at Xmas Cardiff, Boro, Fester or whoever are running away with the League and we are 8 points adrift "quality players" are going to go to those other clubs that look like Promotion material.

That they were a great club, great fans, great people. Pretty much he thought they were great!!! Grrr.

Le juif and collymore, very true boys! I thought exactly the same thing. It certainly sounded that way, but as nottm dude said he seemed relaxed and happy, so if our manager is happy with things i think we should be alright.

He's bum kissing them a bit! Dont mind really. Only just tuned in what's he said?

Unless you're in negotiations with a couple of clubs for players who's contracts run out next summer and you want to send the right message...
