Billy Davies has hailed guiding Nottingham Forest to Championship safety as the proudest moment of his footballing career so far.

Reading's victory over Norwich at Carrow Road this evening confirmed Forest's survival.

And a delighted Davies told us: "I've got to say a big thank you to everyone at the football club - the players, the staff, the auxiliary staff and, most importantly, the fans.

"It has been a wonderful, wonderful effort from all concerned and we should enjoy what has been an outstanding achievement.

"To date, it's Billy Davies' best achievement.

"When I look at the details of what we've been through, what we came into and where this young team had found itself, I've no doubt it's my proudest moment in football so far.
"And that's saying something when you look at my track record in previous years.

"I'm very, very proud to have kept this club up along with my staff; I'm very proud of the players' efforts and proud for everyone concerned."

Thank you for everything Billy :) Good luck for the season's ahead with our wonderful club, onwards and upwards!

He's talking in the third person again, it must be serious :D

Davies, has always been a good manager.
Will be interesting what will happen in the summer now, big changes...

A second spell in L1 would have potentially more damaging than the first.

Thanks Billy =]

Well done to you & your staff Billy & thanks for keeping us up NOW SIGN LEE CAMP ;D

"And that's saying something when you look at my track record in previous years."

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Billy is certainly one to blow his own trumpet. Long may it continue.

Brolin thinks that Billy Davies has done a fine job at Nottingham Forest thus far - and long may it continue.

Thanks Billy.

A small thanks goes towards Calderwood too for Earnie, Camp, Lynch and ummmmm....

Billy Davies would like to thank Billy Davies for turning this club around, and hopefully Billy Davies can put more achievements on Billy Davies' CV next season.

Actually the title of this thread would sound good as a title of Billy Davies' future autobiography - spilling the truths surrounding why he made Terry the Kitman wear a tracksuit instead of his traditional t-shirt and shorts combo.

Interesting...........

His talking himself up and talking in 3rd person really pissed me off after the Derby game ... funny how I think its rarther funny now!

Well Done to Billy and the players and all the other staff and Congratulations to all ... and here is to a sucessful season next year!

You Reds!

I love how he talks in the third person!

Thank you Billy Davies. You have made a lot of Forest fans very happy.

Billy Davies should have said "my wallet" since he probably received a big fat bonus for saving forest from relegation.
