Well Martin O Neill has just left his post at Villa and at it got me thinking which Championship manager will be the first to get the sack / leave post this season?

Well according to the bookies it is not good news for Billy.

Nottingham Forest manager, Billy Davies, is the clear favourite with Coral to be the next manager in the Championship to leave their post at 9/2 and following a summer of no incoming transfers at the City Ground and continued rumours of unsettled relations between Davies and the board anything less than a flying start for Forest may see the two part company.

Victor Chandler, who sponsor Nottingham Forest’s shirt, thus may be better informed take a different view and make Davies an 8/1 chance to be the first to leave, putting Malky Mackay (4/1) and Kevin Blackwell (5/1) at the head of the betting.

Lets hope Billy can prove them wrong and we have a great season!!

I'd rate Strachan and Keane to be above Billy. Had we won on Saturday, he wouldn't be the 'clear favourite' to go...
 
Don't think there's any chance of him leaving unless we're seriously straggling come christmas. On saturdays performance I don't believe we will be.

Considering Doughty let Calderwood stay in the job for 2 and a half seasons, despite him being nowhere good enough for the job, I'd have thought Billy is pretty safe for this season, barring an unmitigated disaster.
 
I reckon Paul Lambert (the Norwich board are extremely fickle) or Darren Ferguson.
 
Keane or Davies will walk rather than being sacked, but i hate to say it if we dont match billy's ambition he'll be off.... Villa perhaps?

Uh... I didn't mean that I don't care, on the contrary, I care.

I love BD, and that was the reason lead to my sour response.

The season has just begun and do we really need to know that our very competent manager is about to leave? What benefits can the team receive from that? Can it bring solidarity to the squad? Can it enhance our morale on and off the pitch? Can it solve our manpower shortage?

Whoever is spreading this news is a wicked sob, this news brings nil positivity except distraction and demoralization, so really, we as a group don't give a (expletive) about BD might leave this year. As I mentioned before, just do the work and win games, all those ill-conceived, ill-advised rumours will be dispelled.
 
This is a blatant attempt by Coral to unsettle our manager. If this isn't tapping up, I don't know what is. If Coral want him, they're going to have to either put up or shut up...
