Gamesmanship more than cheating, which some would argue is the same thing!!

But who cares, he's with us not against us, gotta see out those wins!!! ;D

I can't quite bring myself to call it a necessary evil, I don't like seeing us resort to that.

I'd sooner not have to, but it did at least relieve the clenched buttocks in the Trent End for a few blissful moments.

i dont like it.

sounds stupid, but i dont like opposing fans (reading) hating us for our time wasting tactics.

took earnshaw, lynch, half an hour to walk off the pitch.

As I've said elsewhere, I think it may have been pre-emptive, I hope it doesn't become a habit and I'm more than happy to see it save us two points which might make the differnec at season's end.

I guess that's where the otherwise-seemingly-ludicrous 5 minutes' added time came from...so I guess it achieved little, other than exercising my buttock-clenching muscles a little longer...!

If Preston have a default thing they do in these situations, the gamesmanship prevented them from putting anything together.

I really don't like it but maybe if we were this ruthless from the beginning of the season we could be cruising to a safe mid-table spot right now.

I think its great, I've waited for years to see a Forest team to employ frustration tactics and I think it is a necessary evil for a struggling champonship side.

I'm not thrilled with it, but I remember after we got outfoxed a couple of times earlier in the season, I was absolutely spitting feathers about how naive we were.

Like him or not, there is no two ways about this: Billy Davies is one cute hoor.

The penalty of losing points but being honest Johns and going down is far outweighed by the benefits of making sure we get the said points and stay up, for me.

I never used to like it but ask yourselves this - how many teams have come to the City Ground and done that to us over the years? Every single one! It's about time we stopped being the nice guys and did the same back.

We never did that stuff before and always got mugged because of it.

Erm 1979 European Cup Final, keep the ball at the opposition's corner flag?
Cloughie used it all the time.

i understand it is needed for us to stay up.

its still horrible to watch. id much rather try and get a 3rd and 4th goal.

by all accounts we were, right up until 2 or 3 minutes left of normal time. Aimlessly throwing bodies forward would have left us open for the counter, which is naive and something we've been caught out with many a time.

Not thrilled with the tactics, but it is time to stop being a push over, we are hardly diving in the box and constantly hassling the officials

I couldn't care less how much 'gamesmanship' we deploy if it keeps us in the Championship.

In the same spirit I'm aching for Southampton to fall into administration.

It's dog eat dog chaps, and we've been chewed up far too easily for far too long.

Its not so much time wasting, as causing a delay to break up momentum.

This allows and encurages everyone to settle down.....all 22 players, its natural that if you get a break, the adrenalin level drops and you become more prone to caution and lethargy for a bit.

All intelligent managers use it as and when needed, and its nice to see Forest with an intelligent manager for a change.

Billy Davies is teaching the players how to win games, how to see out the game and get the 3 points. The Forest under CC would have lost that game. Remember the Carling cup against Leicester, 2 minutes to go and we were Playing Villa in the next round. Commons and Cohen mess up at a corner and within seconds they took advantage.

I dont care if it doesnt look pretty, all I care about is winning games and we are doing it at the moment.

I would sooner see us frustrating the other team than looking flash and losing.

Very clever by Davies actually. Made sure that whoever was subbed was on the far side of the field. Ref may have put time on but it broke up the game and stopped any momentum from Preston....

No wonder my post count..
I say as long as the rules aren't broken, Billy should do what he wants to cement our teams survival.

The dirtly little scamp!

As long as we aren't diving and kicking the other team into submission, then there is no harm in sending a player to the other side of the pitch to be subbed

It may not be pretty, or "sportsmanlike" but it will help us achieve points, which we all know and agree we need at the minute

Maybe when we are playing a team off the park and winning 4-0 then we can look at not doing this, however Davies is doing what is needed to keep us up

Viva LaDavies Revolution!
