He probably only said it once, but it gets used in several features giving the impression of repetition.

Perhaps when he gets all his Round - Pegs in his Round - Holes we might not hear about them again.

Maybe he should invest in more square holes if he has so many square pegs :)

Billy Davies infatuation with square pegs, square holes, round pegs and round holes can be traced back to his formative years in childhood. Billy Davies Mum bought him the below toy, which had a reccomended age range of 6-12 months.
wooden%20toy%20shape%20sorter%20cube.jpg

Unfortunately, at the time, Billy was just over 5 months old, leaving him incapable of sorting all the shapes into the correct holes. This resulted in much frustration for the young Billy and this frustration evolved into a lifelong obsession with putting the correct shapes in the correct holes. This also had the added side effect of creating an obsession within Billy of not allowing others to endure the same frustration he did as a child, by not allowing them to attempt things before they are old enough. This is why he will not pick players under the age of 21.

Billy Davies current outbursts against the board are as a direct result of the internal conflict he feels, as a result of the current injury situation. His two obsessions are currently in direct conflict with each other, as he lack of defenders means he will either have to put the wrong shapes in the wrong holes or throw someone too young in to the frey.

Billy Davies is now 45 years old, but has still not completed the Shape Sorter.

It should also be noted that, whilst researching the above article, I discovered this 'gem' on Billy's Wikipage.

He also won ********** of the Month award in the Phillipines after successfully bumfucking a 12 year old sliteye, before donning a gimp mask and killing her entire family

Charming

I could not be sure if that was a direct quote from the man himself knowing his tendancy to talk in third person or an 'article'.

Is that true? There's no external reference so I can't be sure...

What was the infamous mental hospital page that had Milan Mandaric listed as a resident?

"It is not an excuse, it is a fact I had highlighted before this defeat and before Saturday. It just reiterates what I have said about square pegs and round holes. We have to get the right people in the right places."

Sorry for bringing this up again. :D

Who are these round pegs in your defence then please?

Chris Cohen - Central/left-sided midfielder has played the last two games at Left-Back.
Garath McLeary - Right Winger/Striker played the cup game against Bradford at Right-Back.
Joel Lynch - Left-Back has played the last two games as a centre-back.

Should you not be blaming Billy then for moving your left back out of position? You have got your 2million star buy, your 1st choice keeper and your hero Wes in there, sounds like excuses to me and i'm sure it does to most of you aswell. I know he's been after a centre half but he decided to spend spend spend on loads of strikers and blames the board for not getting him any defenders :D get used to this Reds, theres plenty more to come. Excuses excuses, now where we heard that before ::)

Not entirely. Lynch was the only option that had experience as a centre-back. Our other defensive options:-
Wilson - Out Injured
Bennett - Long-term Injured
Gunter - On international duty for Wales
Chambers - Suspended
...and our best youngsters in that area have all been loaned out as they desperately need experience.

We can ruminate all day about this being caused by not getting our transfer targets in that area, but unlike others I don't believe signing defenders is mutually exclusive of signing strikers and believe we gave equal importance to all of our targets, as every area of the team needed improving. We just happen to have been more succesful in getting players in for one area than another, a problem which has subsequently been compounded by injuries and suspensions.
I'd rather Billy remained patient than making panic signings to be honest.

Lynch isn't out of position at centre back, thats his position apparently.

But for me he's in the 'Kenny Burns' position here...naturally a striker, but a manager recognised that he was a better centre-back, so he played there (very succesfully). Lynch is a better left-back, so should concentrate on that.

It's the other way around. He himself says he is a centre back and he's spent most of his career at centre back, he only really started playing left back regularly when he came here.
