Billy - a wanted man?

NOTTINGHAM FOREST yesterday refused to let a rival Championship clubs speak to manager Billy Davies.

QPR and Sheffield Wednesday are both in the hunt for a new boss with Davies very much in the frame.

The Scot, who took over in January this year, has led Forest to fourth in the table and the club are determined to hold on to him.

I don't think there is a chance in hell that BD would go to another Championship club, I just don't see why he would.

The latest is that QPR is set to appoint Paul Hart as the manager with Mick Harford as his assistant. If they do get it , good luck to them both.

Billy is our King. He wouldn't go in a million years.
I think it's a nailed on certainly that he'll be gone within that time frame.

Why would he leave us to go to Wednesday? lol

And as for QPR, I think Billy is clever enough to realise it's a doomed job.

I don't know why they print this bollocks.

OK he took over a "sleeping giant" club that was languishing in the relegation zone when he joined us but he was unemployed at the time.

Why would he leave a side chasing promotion for mid table mediocrity or another relegation battle?

Even though he has issues with Pleat he gets on with Doughty. The guy that owns QPR has pissed off two good managers this year and is always sticking his nose into the running of the club. Wednesday are just losers.

I can't think of any other team that would represent the same kind of exciting challenge and opportunity as Nottingham Forest right now. Billy has a job to do here and I believe that he won't seriously consider a move until he's achieved it however long it takes.

There will come a time, however, when he does consider a move by which time we'll be back in the Prem and we'll be competitively challenging the best of the best. Unfortunately, money talks yet there are more important things and I'm sure his value to us is something that Doughty and McArthur will give great consideration to.

I've never had to contemplate that I might be upset should our manager leave us before.

I honestly don't know what I'd do if Billy left because I don't think we could go up without him.

Why should Billy go to a club that are a) looking for their 7th manager in the last 3 years and appear to be spending sweet FA despite having the richest board in the Championship or b) haven't got two ha'pennies to rub together and are in the bottom three of the Championship?

I reckon that at the moment Billy must be in one of the best jobs in the division. He has a Chairman who is prepared to back him financially, he has a fanbase that is second to none in terms of quantity and patience and a team that seem to believe that anything is possible.

rumours like this will give Billy more weight in his (if rumours are to be believed) mission to remove pleat from the club...

surely nffc can see that we need to keep Billy...

I feel exactly the same, i don't know how i'd feel if Billy did leave, and i look at other managers and ask who could come in and take over ? I can't think of anyone that could, in my opinion, do as good-a-job as Billy is doing right now.

One thing i have been wondering though, is whether Billy got this much attention whilst he was at Preston, or Derby. Is it now that he is in charge at a 'bigger' club, that the press use him to fill column inches, and other clubs chairmen sit up and take note ?

I was thinking this, rumours like this play into Billy's hands and he will get what he wants. (i.e. the removal of the transfer panel) :)

If you think about it, I really can't imagine Billy to except another job outside of the Prem. - certainly not the championship anyhow. I even think If offered to continue to build on the work he has with us, or to go to the toon.. He'd stay.
